Peggle falling into the DS
PopCap's Peggle is a ridiculously popular pachinko-esque puzzle game about bouncing balls around on pegs. It's so well-regarded that it made Joystiq's Top 10 of 2007. A version was also included in The Orange Box for PC, which makes it "okay" for professed hardcore gamers to enjoy it.
PopCap's John Vechey told Pocket Gamer that after the game's Xbox Live Arcade port is released, a DS version would be on the way. He didn't give any details about the release other than that there would be one, and we don't know when or for what region it's coming out.

This is pretty much a no brainer move. This game has been getting a ton of press and praise from the casual community (and hardcore as well). It'll be a welcome addition to my collection. I hope they include some type of online leaderboards, as I'm sure they'll have in the XBLA version.

Oh no!
Now I can bring the digital crack with me everywhere. My life is over. And I love it!

Like I said on Joystiq, I tried this for the first time yesterday, and already I need a 12-Step program. I'm actually playing it RIGHT NOW.

OH NOOOOO!!!! The Orange Box, for me, meant two things....Portal and Peggle...and not getting much of ANYTHING else done for a very long time. At one time I thought of finding Peggle for my cell phone but never dared to go beyond it being a fleeting thought because the idea of Peggle with me anywhere, anytime was ... overwhelming to put it very mildly. Now though..on my DS.... *shudder*

It's a great game, and the touch screen should be pretty much perfect, except a) I'm not sure how you'd fit all the detail you need into the DS resolution, and b) I'm not sure how you'd "nudge" precision shots (like using the arrow keys).
