Super Street Fighter II HD Remix developers now remixing monsters
Backbone Entertainment, the developers of the Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo and Super Street Fighter II remakes, as well as the DS Death Jr. game and various other projects, have announced a new original Wii game to be published by Eidos. Monster Lab takes place in the hilariously-named Uncanny Valley, in which the player, as a mad scientist's apprentice, mixes and matches monster parts to create original creations. The gameplay involves finding parts out in the wild, then taking them back to the lab and performing alchemical, mechanical, and biological experiments on them to augment them.
Once you've built a monster, you then take it out into the world and control it in battles! Monster Lab even features online battling and trading. With millions of possible combinations, this game could have some serious long-term replayability. Or you could just make monsters over and over.

As long as they make the battles interesting.
...because I've gone through enough years of Pokemon-esque battles... I get tired of just thinking to myself "Hey, here's an idea Vulpix: MOVE OUT OF THE ****ING WAY!!!" ...
I'm tired of turn-based flat-monster-battles. The world is friggin' 3 dimensional! We need more actual creative-freedom with our battles... something completely unconventional, something unpredictable. Not just hit-or-miss. We've had enough of that, it's time to move on.
(Not saying get rid of it, I'm saying make something new... and make more of it)

I've been looking forward to this game and i've ben hoping it would start to get more coverage on nwf as well as other sites to get the hype train going

This game doesn't even support 16x9 widescreen mode. I'm sorry, but it's 2008 and that in just inexcusable. Remember that Everyone Votes poll awhile back that asked how many % of Wii owners have a widescreen TV? Yea that poll was like 51% have 16x9. For shame, Backbone Entertainment...
