Does the new Rock Band mic hint at a Wii game?

Did the packaging design for an accessory leak an unannounced game? Probably not. Our guess is that this USB microphone is compatible with the existing Wii singing games, which means High School Musical, American Idol, and EA's own Boogie. We would, of course, love to be wrong. We'd rather have the full Rock Band experience instead of just the expensive peripherals.

Yes they're in the back of the console.
Unless you think official peripherals like this don't actually attach to the Wii

It would be nice if they made a new Monkey Island game and you can actually throw out insults during "insult sword fighting." The mic would be great for that.

They better announce a Rock Band for Wii SOON, but I'd still probably only play it on my friends' 360s...

I'd only buy it if it was the full game. I'm not buying a ps2 port, because that version was severely gimped.

Now that i think about it: EA makes Rock Band and Boogie, the latter being on Wii and connecting via USB. Maybe it just connects to the Wii only for Boogie, considering they never sold microphones seperatly.

I talked to a Nintendo Rep back in November and he said that Rock Band would be hitting the Wii in Spring of 2008. It's not official, of course.
