Nintendo shifts more developers to the Wii, less to the DS
There comes a time in every system's life when its parent has to take off the kid gloves and say goodbye. Nintendo might not being doing that just yet with the DS, but the company is decreasing the amount of developers working on DS titles. That doesn't mean Nintendo will be facing empty nest syndrome, though. By coddling the DS a little less, more developers can (and will) be able to focus on Wii games. The Wii will surely benefit from this, as more manpower means quicker game releases. As for the DS, don't fret. The handheld is littered with third-party titles, and it's not like Nintendo is jumping ship completely on its portable money-printer.

The DS has a pretty substantial collection to date, with more good games on the horizon. The extra attention that the Wii will be getting will totally benefit anyone that owns the console.

Please, gimme Wii Zelda!!!

That makes sense. The DS has some great 3rd party games and doesn't need Nintendo 1st parties to keep it afloat. Whereas with the Wii, the 3rd parties are just now getting their act together.

It's about time

I know right! You think they'd hopped on this like 6 months ago....

So i can image
"Those 3rd party devs suck, lets send some of our people from the DS division to help"
Group 1 your off to "insert dodgy/lazy dev here" and so on....
It can only be good though as the DS is flying high and there's plenty of good games out for it and well the Wii....hmmm...it does have a quite a few games out for it.

Well, to help out the 3rd-party cause, I purchased another 3 titles today. Had some gift cards left over and some pocket change, so I got NMH, Zack and Wiki, and Trauma Center: Second Opinion.

Translation: "3rd party DS developers know what they're doing now, while 3rd party Wii games still pretty much suck. Guess we'd better cover the Wii front better while they get their acts together."
I'm OK with that.
