DS Daily: Back on the case

Your case: show us it. Or show us a link to it. Did you buy it? Make it yourself? Find it in the trash? If you have yet to find the one for you, what do you want in a case?

This is the case I have:
http://www.sfbags.com/products/nintendo-ds/nintendods.htm
It's a little expensive, but it's worth every penny. Solid stitching with ripstop nylon and leather exterior. It's beautiful AND extremely durable ... what else can you ask for?

I went with Naki World's swing grip case:
http://www.naki-world.com/65111.html
It adds some bulk, but I was having trouble playing for long periods without hand cramps because the controls are too close to the edge of the DS. The extra grips are a Godsend. It also does a great job of protecting the DS but still allowing easy access to everything.

I was just looking for a new case so this post will be great! The two I had in mind were:
http://renchi.com/renchi/NINTENDO_DS_DS_Lite_Accessories_DS_Lite_Japanese_Pouch_Turquoise_Kakai.htm or
http://renchi.com/renchi/NINTENDO_DS_DS_Lite_Accessories_DS_Lite_Slipon_Socks_Blue_Navy_Tomy_Licensed.htm
I just want a small case that will fit in my pocket but will also protect it from keys or crap that sits in the bottom of my laptop bag.

I use an old check box to store my games and I have no case for my DS Lite. I generally prefer to keep it in my pocket. I have looked around for game cases that are somewhat compact, but can carry a fair number of DS and GBA games. So far that check box has been the best (and cheapest) solution I can find.

I have multiple cases.
A light blue airform case for serious travel.

The One Piece special DS case that I bought on eBay for a penny.

I purchased this from Best Buy:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8268055&type=product&id=1171057816888
It was a little hasty, as it's not the prettiest, but I wanted something that would hold all my stuff: A few game cases, a USB charging cable, a MintyBoost (AA to USB charger), and the normal charger if I need it.
I'm still keeping my eye out for a more compact case, but this one will do for now.

Special one-of-a-kind Radiohead edition crystal case. Actually, no, I just cut into it with a needle...

I just bought a thick sock, separated the thick part with ridges that goes around your leg and sewed one end of it shut. Pretty much idential to one of those iPod socks, except it fits my DS (and one for my PSP). It's quick, easy, and protects it while it shares an aluminum case with my PSP. I have a few zippered cases and things, but they always seem to push on the shoulder buttons, and I don't want that.
NeverSage @ Jan 23rd 2008 2:16PM
Case free is the way to be. This aint no PSP, son. With no screens exposed, you don't need one, IMO.

I figure you'll change your tune when you drop it :/

Ugh, im still looking for the correct case for me.
Alisha Karabinus @ Jan 24th 2008 12:22AM
Me too. I think I'm eventually going to break down and make one. I have a couple, but they just don't feel right.

I'm using one of the small DS backpacks from Wal-Mart and Target, it works great for me, and it (barely :P) holds all my games.
Can't remember who makes it though.

Bunch of nice and different ones here - http://www.renchi.com/renchi/NewsDetail?newsID=811

I have this (or it could be the 55, cannot tell from the images): http://www.amazon.co.uk/CRUMPLER-John-Thursday-50-pink/dp/B0001MQ4YS/ref=sr_1_27?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1201146942&sr=1-27
It's left over from my old camera and it fits the DS perfectly, with a small pouch in the flap that is meant for memory cards, so therefore fits a couple of DS games. Can have a strap attached and has alright padding. Protects the DS inside my bag, or when the strap is attached, just thrown over a shoulder.
tim @ Jan 24th 2008 12:57AM
actually you guys had a good idea that changed my everyday life. you had the idea that a DS lite fits perfect into a pocky box. since then, i buy a box of pocky (called "mikado" where i life) every week and put my lite in it.
Eleniel @ Jan 25th 2008 2:37PM
I'm currently using a red Vera Bradley pencil case that I coincidentally also got for Christmas along with my DS Lite; it just happens to fit perfectly the DS and AC charger, plus it matches my wallet, so that's neat. I got a keychain game case off of renchi.com to hook on the zipper, and I'm set for most of the time, however I'm looking into getting a new case for traveling that's more padded/protective and holds more games. That Waterfield (sfbags.com) case looks super sweet, but it's so pricey...
ArmorForVictor @ Jan 25th 2008 5:28PM
i bought a case when i bought the original ds and modified it a little to hold my new ds lite and i love it. it holds 8 ds games and there's a pocket in the back to store a charger or some gba games.
