Get Video of Sega Bass Fishing

Even if you hate fishing games, Sega Bass Fishing will probably provide the special kind of simple joy that seems to come only from Sega arcade games. There is something about the goofiness of the whole thing, and the English that is only slightly awkward, that we always associate with having a good time in video games. Yes, it's another port, but it's pretty hard to be upset at Sega. How can you not love a game whose Japanese title is Get Bass? It's an imperative!
In any case, the Wii needs a good fishing game, and that's precisely what Sega Bass Fishing is. According to IGN's preview, the latest version includes not only improved graphics, but brand new locations in which to fish. If the Wiimote and Nunchuk can adequately replace the superb Dreamcast fishing controller, then there will be no reason not to Get Game.

Wow, that looks extremely close to the original Sega Bass Fishing on the Dreamcast. Which is, believe it or not, an awesome thing. Especially after spending $50 on the unenjoyable Hooked: Real Motion Fishing. Here' to hoping that this game allows the IR sensor on the Wiimote to actually work (at least during the menu screens) and that this is as fun as the original. Man, I have missed that perfectly executed line tension gauge!

What is with that awful music? I'm so sick of early 90's MIDI-sounding rock in videogames. If I want to listen to the TMNT music for SNES I will play that game. It's now 2008, hire a different composer and get some real music.

Are you nuts? One of the best parts about Sega Bass Fishing is it's music. "FISH!" music FTW!
Only thing they seemed to "improve" was the announcer, as the first one had a VERY deep accent.

Well, it stays true to the game...
Nothing's wrong with old! Old had great ideas that weren't recognized!
That kind of attitude got rid of great music... such as the fight music from Guardian Heroes... when people wanted to get rid of the old, they got rid of the WRONG old!
...I miss the music of Guardian Heroes...

Whoa, me and my dad actually bonded with this game when it was on the dreamcast. (Funny, how we like...never fish in real life) He's definitely looking forward to the Wii version since we only played with the dreamcast controller at the time.
