Possibly the most impressive Geometry Wars video you'll ever see

Bill Tangeman clearly has a pretty high tolerance of cramp, if his highest score on Geometry Wars: Galaxies is anything to go by. But what really gets us about the above video is that he could have gone on and on and on and on and Ariston, until he developed Carpal tunnel syndrome reached whatever score he damn well pleased.

As it happened, he was happy to settle for a piffling 5,000,000,000, a total that saw Bill top the regional Galaxies leaderboard. We're slightly dismayed to learn there's a difficulty ceiling in the game, but it's safe to say that we're quite a distance from breaking it.

I found the same thing out in the first planet system. On Claes I was able to hit a ridiculously high score. I just figured out the spawn pattern of the ships and flew from side to side, shooting in a sweeping pattern in front of me. It got to the point where dieing once or even 4 times didn't mean much because I'd just build up to 9 lives in about 20 more minutes of playing. I kept it going for a while but got bored - I think I stopped just north of 1 billion.

i'm gurtz on there. dude just broke my high score. i had gotten a 2 billion plus score, but only by playing the same game for 19 hours straight. so i don't really care that he beat me. cuz i only did that as i could play it at work, over three days. man.

There's a thin line between "video game achievements" and wasting time, and he obviously crossed it.

you're probably that asshole that goes to every cool YouTube video and says "You have way too much time on your hands" or something to that effect. He does what the rest of us do, HE PAUSES THE GAME and comes back to it maybe a few hours later or the next day. It wasn't a marathon session.

You're wrong :D There is a such a thing called skill. I'm not impressed because this guy could go on FOREVER. Now someone else has to waste their time getting an even higher score, because this Geometry Wars doesn't get harder like other games.
