Get your Shopping Squad together for possible Ghost Squad deal
A few NeoGAFfers are reporting that their local Target stores have started clearing out the excellent Ghost Squad for around ten bucks. That's terrible news for Sega, and awesome news for you. To put it bluntly: holy crap go buy the game. You can use the (ridiculous) savings to build your own Zapper/Perfect Shot/shark gun bundle.A word of warning, though: Target's clearances are rather tricky. Not all stores participate, and sometimes it's quite a battle to actually convince the employees that the game is on sale. Sometimes their clearanced games are removed from the system, meaning that you have to convince the employees that it's an item Target sells.

Ghost Squad is AWESOME, guys! If you only pay $10 for it, you will NOT regret it! Especially if you have a zapper. It's got goofy voice acting but you'll think its funny and the rest of the game is really dope. GO TO TARGET NOW!

I just went to target... 29.99
BrandonIT @ Dec 28th 2007 3:36PM
No lie. I got this for Christmas and I love it! I just hope they didn't overpay for it (saw one store charging $50 for it).
This game is pretty fun and I highly recommend it. Especially as a "violent" party game for 4 players, it's a blast.
Jaleeb Caru @ Dec 28th 2007 3:54PM
Dag, I literally ordered that last night from Amazon ($29.99).
troy @ Dec 28th 2007 4:14PM
Oh well, I paid that for it and I still regret nothing! And apparently your odds of getting that deal at Target are still slight.

Yeah, the game is worth the $30. I got it and it is great like a really fun, cheesy 80's action flick.

Good to know, can't wait to play it.

Word on CAG is that this was supposed to be an online-only game, so they are selling the in-store copies at whatever price it's stickered for (the UPC isn't in the system). Some are getting it at $7.99, others up to $29.99. It's definitely YMMV.

i just got back from target, it was a hassle. basically the item doesn't scan, its just not in their system. i argued with the guy about seeing it online for 10 dollars and after a bit of a tussle he sold it to me as merchandise for 17. better than 50 i guess.
LarryB @ Dec 28th 2007 8:04PM
The kids (god I feel old saying that) who work in electronics were basically morons, totally confused on why it didn't scan so I ended up going to customer service. I talked to a manager and told him that at other stores it was on clearance for 10.99. He looked something up in the system and told me he would sell it for $12.46. So I jumped on it like a horny rooster. save yourself the trouble and ask for a manager straight away.
ricard @ Dec 28th 2007 10:09PM
I tried that they said they couldn't sell it to me or any one else because it wasn't in there system on a side note the manager was a teenager
RWilloug @ Dec 28th 2007 8:30PM
I found it at the second Target I tried for 12.46 as well.
On a non-Wii related note, the first Target I went to had the component and composite cables for the PSP Slim on clearance for 9.98 each.

Got mine. First time I went, the dude in electronics scans it and tells me "The game isn't out yet, I can't sell it to you." After I tell him otherwise (and an awkward stare at his seriousness), he taps at his keyboard for a few seconds before telling me "Sorry, it's not in the system, I can't sell it to you."
I had a few other errands to run, so I returned later, picked up the game (it was on an endcap) and brought it to a regular cashier instead. When it wouldn't ring up, she asked me for a price and just rang it up as 'merchandise', 10 bucks. Quote her, "Hey, if it's not in Target's computer, it's their loss."

I got back from Target, G.S was on the cap end of the shelf posted @ $29.99, and I ask the cashier to scan the game. After the game would not scan, I told him the game was being sold online for $10 and he said, "if merchandise will not scan, the stores are force match prices with online sales as close as possible. He sold the game for $10.

I found two copies at the Novato, CA target and it was listed as $29.99. The price scanner wasn't picking it up (of course, like everyone said) so i took it to the express lane. The kid there said to take it to the electronics section but that it probably was $30-$50. The guy at electronics section sold it to me for $19.99. I guess I should have tried to get it for $10 but oh well. I tried looking it up on the website this morning and it wasn't listed.
Rocketboy @ Dec 30th 2007 8:02AM
29.99 at my Target as well. Also on an endcap marked as 29.99, so that's what they are selling it at. I totally do not see where it's 9.99 online. When I do a search at Target.com, it still shows up as 29.99. It really seems to me like this deal is nothing other than trying to convince Target that they should sell it for less than they are selling it.
Lee @ Dec 31st 2007 7:52AM
I was able to get it for $9.99.
It was the last copy at my Target, there was no price listed in the display case and it wasn't in the system. I had to go to customer service and with a little insistence he gave it to me for $9.99.
Rocketboy @ Dec 31st 2007 9:16AM
Yep, just like I said, convincing them that they should sell it to you for less than they are actually selling it for.
