Wii stolen from retirement home, happy holidays everyone
Ah the holidays. A time of joy, cheer, charity, and theft. Yes, theft. We all know that senior citizens love the Wii. That's why residents of the Lilac Plaza Retirement Community home in Spokane, Washington sold some recipe books in order to make enough money to buy one for themselves. After having the system for only one month, however, someone stole it.
The seniors, who said they enjoyed the Wii because it was fun and kept them active, were worried that they wouldn't find the funds or opportunity to replace the system. Fear not, though, this story isn't a total downer. GoNintendo's own RawmeatCowboy is planning to replace the stolen system for the folks at the home. At least this sad tale will have a happy ending.

Between every old person in that retirement home they couldn't find $250? That's one sad retirement home.

It's like seniors don't have very many job opportunities and have to worry about medical costs.

I live in Canada so I always forget about the US' stance on giving medication to old people.
Still though, $250 between what looks like in the pictures of the retirement home is a pretty large number of people wouldn't amount to much more than a dollar or two I would expect.

Thieves always piss me off. When they broke into my house and stole all my games, computer and camecube I was pissed off. There seems to be alot of break-ins in my area lately, and now this? Its just getting to me! How dare they steal in a retirement home! >:(

I'm glad you liked the reference. I thought it may have been a bit too subtle, so thanks! :-)

I am so glad that someone is going to replace their system for them. My grandmother passed away this year, and she had spent some of her latter years in a senior living facility. The residents there are sometimes really in need of something different and exciting, and so I am overjoyed at the graciousness of RawmeatCowboy from making this holiday-for them-not one of disspointment, but of joy.
It really restores ones faith that there are still decent people out there, and that the spirit of giving is still alive.
