PS3 games more fun than Wii games
Fact.Just kidding, really, so put the Nintendo Wii Fanboy voodoo dolls away, please. Sony's CEO Sir Howard Stringer, however, seems to believe it. Said the chairman, "The PlayStation 3 will come into its own because its [high-end games] are infinitely more fun, demanding and exciting [than the Wii's]."
Before you rant away at Mr. Stringer, keep in mind it's his job to say things like this. Of course, that doesn't mean we have to agree with it. While both systems have their merits, to make such a general statement like that is a bit presumptuous, although expected.

well, one arguament could be that ps3 games ARE really fun..
untill you complete them and get bored of repetitive online play.
roughly a few days?
Fullmetal Salchemist @ Dec 14th 2007 6:02PM
How long till one gets tired of minigames and years-old PS2 games? It's roughly the same amount, I'd wager.
Serious Kano @ Dec 15th 2007 9:20AM
he kinda reminds me of two-face from batman.
vidGuy @ Dec 14th 2007 6:06PM
Only thing is, I haven't bought any of those games, Fullmetal. Somehow the games that I play daily on the Wii are neither PS2 ports or minigames.
Tom @ Dec 14th 2007 6:25PM
HAHAHA!!! *sigh* Man, that Stringer is SUCH a joker! Oh wait...He really believes that? How sad.
Well, I'm not saying the PS3 is completely void of fun games, but only Sony Fanboys can try and say something so blatantly untrue.
And the same thing has happened to me, vidguy. I have yet to buy a single minigame collection game for my Wii. BUT I STILL PLAY MY WII DAILY!!!
Fullmetal Salchemist @ Dec 14th 2007 6:33PM
Yeah, still play it daily? Surprising considering how few games are worth playing on the system.
I'm as big a Nintendo Fanboy as one can find; hell, I camped outside of a Target on launch day to get one, but can't find more than like three games worth playing till the end.
Zack and Wiki was a great game. Once I got the highest ranking and collecting the Capcom tokens I found no reason to boot this up again. But such is the curse of point-and-click adventure games.
Metroid Prime 3, as great as the controls were, again, I found no reason to go back and play after I got all the upgrades and got the secret ending.
Mario Galaxy, I'm only up to 94 stars, and I would probably still play this occasionally, but I let a friend borrow it. I'll probably shoot for 120 when I get it back.
Other than that, a whole big stack of nothing.
Eddie @ Dec 14th 2007 7:12PM
I agree and disagree with you.
I have found a lack of truly awesome games for the Wii so far. I loved Zelda, Metroid, Super Paper Mario, Super Mario G, and Guitar Hero III. I actually play my DS more often nowadays.
But on the other hand... what PS3 games beat those games right now? I think there are a couple "comparable" games. Heavenly Sword, Call of Duty 4, Assassin's Creed, and Elder Scrolls IV. But only on of them is exclusive to the PS3!!
Yet again, don't get me wrong. My only gift for this Christmas is a PS3 with MotorStrom and Fifa 08. Mainly cuz I want to be able to play any good games that come out in the future for the PS3, and they will come. Also cuz I hate how EA made the controls for Fifa on the Wii. And also, because it's one of the cheapest BlueRay players our there.
Either way, Wii and PS3 will get some mega-kick-ass titles closer to the 2nd anniversary and forward, because not many developers know what to do with these two systems yet (for very different reasons).
NinKenDo @ Dec 14th 2007 8:10PM
How about a stack of RE: UC, Geometry Wars: Galaxies, Medal of Honor: Heroes 2, Guitar Hero 3, Mercury Meltdown, Nights 2, and good number of fun "lightgun" style games, and very promising new year.
troy @ Dec 14th 2007 9:18PM
You are confusing your mother and available wii games. Wii games are sensual, willing partners for life-affirming adventures, your mother is a big stack of nothing. I can see how you, with your personal experience, might confuse the two. Wii games are slightly more costly, at $30-$50 for a lifetime of fun, so it would do you well to make a distinction, as infinite time with your mom is far less expensive.
Joop @ Dec 14th 2007 7:21PM
Why is this sparking actual discussion? A CEO just said "my games are better than yours times infinity". Perhaps he will follow it up by saying that his dad can totally kick Miyamoto's dad's ass.
This is a time for ridicule, not a time to consider the merit of his PR oopsie.
NinKenDo @ Dec 14th 2007 8:04PM
Amen! that has to be one of the worst PR statements to come from Sony, and that's a pretty big feat (i.e. "4-D is the future of gaming on the PS3", "RIDDDDGGGGGE RACCCCCER", "Emotion Engine can produce Toy Story quality graphics", "Rumble is last gen" etc. etc.) They are back to their arrogant ways and they get kicked in the teeth every time they let one of their douchebag executives open their mouth in public. It's extremely childish yet isn't ironic how mature and professional most of Nintendo's spokepeople are despite the "kiddie image" (Reggie can be arrogant though sometimes, but that guy just kicks ass). And the difference being with Reggie that he actually plays games and is well aware of how much ass he is kicking. Somehow I doubt that very many Sony executives ever even pick up a controller.
hvnlysoldr @ Dec 14th 2007 11:02PM
Well yeah, well my executive Reggie can kick his ass and take his name so fast you can't bowl a strike in Wii Bowling.
troy @ Dec 14th 2007 8:33PM
I think sony sucks in a highly unqualified manner: I also think Nintendo rules in a highly qualified way: infinitely. Closeminded? Perhaps. Based on actual fact, unlike Mr. Stringer's comment? Absolutely.
Jose @ Dec 14th 2007 9:16PM
Some of the PS3's games are better than the Wii's and vice versa.
Jose @ Dec 14th 2007 9:18PM
I also forgot to add that if this guy actually believes that the PS3's games are far superior to the wiis, PROVE IT!

Reggie once said 'If I were in their position I would be saying the exact same things' about enemy CEO's (lol) and he's right. Luckily for Nintendo and people like myself, Reg is so badarse that he says badass stuff and backs it up with fact and results, unlike blah blah blickity corporate mens at other corporations, that are more corporate.
FX-1 @ Dec 14th 2007 11:02PM
Really. I mean, at least when Reggie does his one-sided Nintendo stuff he's a little more level about it and he adds some form of reasoning. This guy just flat out says it. Reggie has the class not to say "Wii is better than PS3" like that's the end of the argument, which is what this guy is doing from a reverse perpective.
Atlantis1982 @ Dec 14th 2007 11:47PM
The only fun games I have seen for the PS3 is Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, and Calling all Cars; those three don't warrent a complete purchase for a new system.
Garst @ Dec 15th 2007 1:07AM
It might be his job to say things like this, but shouldn't he say something that at least sounds convincing? He statement are like the ones girls, like totally, were saying, like, in the '90s. Totally! Whoa!
Sorry. I totally started channelling Joey Lawence! Wow! Damn that Blossom!
ArturoWii @ Dec 15th 2007 1:18AM
This guy doesnt know about videogame , THIS MAN IS A SHIT!

nintendolink007-entertainment @ Dec 15th 2007 10:24AM
I dont see or hear nintendo saying this kinda mess. Sony is just getting despirate more then what "suppose to be said". I like sony, but their business practices are getting bad.....almost as bad as microsofts.
Pete @ Dec 15th 2007 4:08PM
Yeah Wii would be alot more fun than PS3... if I could purchase one...
ArmorForVictor @ Dec 15th 2007 7:25PM
i own both a wii and ps3 and dont understand big coporations dissing other coporations. i mean we already have enough of that on the internet with all the fanboys. all the systems are fun and different and one is not better over the other its just your personal taste that decides your console(s).
FX-1 @ Dec 16th 2007 12:24PM
. . . Says conventional wisdom. But conventional wisdom isn't always right.
