Zero Punctuation takes on Guitar Hero III

Love him or hate him, Yahtzee always seems to invoke some sort of emotion with his crudely worded, flash animation reviews. This week, he tackles Guitar Hero III, and guess what? He hates it. It seems that Activision just can't get any love today.

Watch him bash the game and defend his heterosexuality in the NSFW video after the break.

For the record, I am still getting this game, hopefully. I will eventually beat Through the Fire and the Flames on Expert, even if it's a horrible score... it's my life's goal.

Um, I'm not a homosexual, so maybe I have no right to say this, but... I think people should just get over it. Most of the homesexuals and bisexuals I know don't take real offense to these sort of jokes. In comedy, you will always have homophobia, rascism, sexism, stereotypicalism etc... it's for comedic purposes and not serious. I think we should all be able to laugh at ourselves as long as it's not meant in an offense way. I find jokes based off of my race, sex, social type, culture, background, etc, pretty funny. We just need to learn to accept they are purely jokes.

Basically, I doubt he's that homophobic, and if he is... why should anybody care? Unless a homosexual guy wants to plow him or something...

I think it was an atempt at a parody of how you're typical male gamer views Guitar Hero and how much shit you'll get over it by you're peers and fellow gamers. It is also possibly a nod at South Park's Guitar Hero episode.

Either way he's not poking fun at homosexuals, rather the type of guy who always has to justify that what he did/does is the most heterosexual thing he could do. The kind of guy who won't hug another guy or screams faggot during online games.

Maybe I'm missing you're offense to the homophobia, could be perhaps that you're homophobic yourself (which isn't entirely a bad thing or the persons fault, but for the typical guy labeled as homophobic it is a bad thing).

Eh whatever, live and let live. Tolerance is the key here but the sooner people stop being so sensitive about race, gender and sexual orientation the sooner it will stop being an issue or an easy excuse for someone to turn their current situation around or warp someone's thoughts/words.

I usually hate his little rants, and find them nothing more then rants of a fool who believes he is a actual paid game reviewer. However this time I did like his guitar hero rant as I find the "playing a controller and believing it is a instrument" genre pathetic like the Halo = idiot jock stereotypes genre.

If you believe that you can actually play a guitar after becoming a professional on the game, which sadly I met a few during college, then you are a unintelligent waste of life.

how many people actually do think that though? I think you should just accept it is a game as is DDR and sing star, both of which, involve some sort of musical activity, so just get over you "coolness" and let others have some innocent fun!

I am gay, and I thought it was a great review. Yahtzee's reviews are globally offensive and really, doesn't that cancel out any sort of homophobia/racism (Eminem, I'm looking at you). I can't wait to see what he has to say about Rock Band, that game has taken over my coworker's lives.
