Dean Takahashi lists best games for kids
And guess what company is at the top of the thing?Yup, Nintendo ranks pretty high on the list, with Mario's latest outing on the Wii enjoying "top dog" status. Coming in at the bottom of the list is The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass on the DS. The two sandwich in eight titles, mostly for the Wii, including Mario & Sonic at the Olympics and EA Playground.
We figured we'd mix Dean's list up a bit and have you all pick your favorite kid-friendly Wii games. What do you think is the best the system has to offer for younger gamers?

Wii Sports, by far. I haven't played the latest Mario Party but my 8 year old cousin loved the previous ones on the GC, so I'm sure she'd have a blast with it.

it depends on what you call young kids. My 9 year old doesn't leave home with out her DS. My 5 year old on the other hand plays the Wii all the time. So i guess it depends on the child.

Eh it is no wonder nintendo games topped the list, Julie Alrbight and Pinkies Pink Pie parade or something are completely atrocious.
What age group are they focusing on, those kids in the picture wouldnt be able to handle Sim City Society, lol.
Anyway, I love High School Musical Sing It, Id buy it if I already didnt own both soundtracks, movies, and the special karaoke movie versions and soundtracks.

Alright I have a six year old son who loves the Wii and to be honest I wished they did have more games that are on an easy level for children in these younger age groups. Maybe even some V-tech style games for the consoles so I won't have to keep buying all the new V-Tech stuff. As for a list of games for children I have found a few Wii titles that have worked really well for my son.
-Cars
-Wii Sports
-Wii Play
-Super Mario Galaxy (he is having a hard time after 30 stars)
-Mario Party
-Wario Ware

Just stick the kid alone in a room with Manhunt 2 and see what happens.
Yeah, that was an evil comment. Oh well.
