Myst DS gets release window
We haven't seen anything on the game since September, sadly, but finally we know when we'll be able to get the final product in our hand (the other hand will undoubtedly be slapping our head as we stupidly try to solve the game's puzzles). Empire Interactive has just signed on to publish Myst DS, agreeing to bring it to North America during Q1 of 2008.Any adventure fans plan on giving this game a play once it hits the DS?

Really not sure on this one.
I mean, it's a classic game, but after Riven, exile and myst's 4 and 5, the puzzles seem kinda... basic.
Could still be great on the DS though, I guess it depends on how well it's been ported over. Definitely keeping an eye on it

I played my brother's a bit back when it came out, but I never had a PC, so I never finished it. I'm pretty excited about the DS release.

One of the best games I ever played!! I couldn't manage to finish Riven, but Myst and Myst 3 are the best of the best

I hated the limited Hypercard interface on the original. I always got lost fast thanks to the fact that you couldn't free-look. Yes, I know they made a "realMyst" that did that, but I'm hoping the DS version will be playable so that I'll finally be able to finish this classic.

Is there any kind of extras? If so then I'll probably get it for my wife, she loves Myst and she loves her DS.

I would consider getting it if they didn't just port it and reworked the ending completely (seriously... the original game had the most forehead slapping ending ever. And not in a good way). Also, I'm not too excited about the movement from place to place detailed in that video... it's more like an interactive picture book (wait, was that the whole idea of the game?).
Although, a lot of the older volumes of the Myst series are now available in CHEAP collectible sets for PC and Mac (I was eyeing one for $15). Which means this game better be some sorta exciting to get me to pay the usual DS game price of $20-35.
