Galaxy back down to #2 in all-time rankings, we burn our copies

Super Mario Galaxy's recent appearance at the top of the Game Rankings all-time pile has come to a swift end. Previously, the Mario romp had former champ The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time pinned against the ropes, thanks to an average review score that was just 0.3% higher than that of Zelda. But the fresh-faced pretender tired, and has now slipped back into second place, thanks to a recent flurry of new reviews. Will the plumber get another shot at the top spot? Barring a sudden deluge of perfect scores, probably not.
On another note, it's nice to see the top three can all be played on the Wii.

Sigh...
The honeymoon was nice while it lasted
Oh well, Nintendo occupying 1,2, and 3 is still awesome

It's a very good game, but I don't think it deserves to be the number 1 game of all time, not even number 2. I'm not even sure I'd put it in the top ten. I can't argue with Zelda being number 1, for its time, it was arguably the best ever, but not any more.

it had a good run.
still an awesome game

The leaderboard will soon be dominated by an other Nintnendo title: Super Smash Bros. Brawl!
Mr Khan @ Nov 23rd 2007 10:46AM
I'm not sure
It'll get great scores, but not perfect, because of the legitimate faults of the online system, and because of the same group of people who never "got" it, saying "Where's my health bars? Waaaambulance!"
Thomas @ Nov 22nd 2007 10:29PM
Well it had its moment... good for that...

Regardless, it does seem like it will stay in the Top Three, and Nintendo can't be upset with that.
They make the highest rated games every generation.
Off Topic:
I'll bet money that Brawl will NOT make it into the Top 10. I think it'd be lucky to end up with a 95.
Three words:
Online. Friend Codes.
2/10
It has soooooo many features, reviewers will have plenty to pick apart; mostly, complaints that features could have been taken deeper. [Hypothetical complaints:]
1) Not being able to save the "Stage of the Day"
2) Not being able to track certain people's matches from Spectator Mode
3) *Already brought up* Not being able to draw Pictochat stage with a DS in real-time.
4) Only able to save 3 minutes of battle footage
Also, do you really think points won't be taken off for:
1)Lack of Voice Chat(as of now)
2)Lack of Ranked Matches
3)Lack of Names shown
4)Lack of HDD/Storage for movies/stages/screenshots
I think it will end up with a 92-93 average.

I agree there will be some complaints about the online system and lack of voice chat, but other then that, no other complaints. I'm seeing ratings in the high 90s.
LAZoftheTamarinds @ Nov 22nd 2007 11:28PM
Well at least Nintendo has the most games on that list.
g3kg3k @ Nov 23rd 2007 1:06AM
Metroid Prime at 3? Seriously? That game is infuriatingly buggy and frustrating at times.

Is it just me, or are some of the dates on the reviews from December 2007? Are they allowed to post reviews from the future?
o.O
Ghen @ Nov 23rd 2007 10:36AM
Magazines release issues 1 month ahead so that people in Australia don't feel left behind when they get their December issue slightly after Christmas.
