You can buy the Club Nintendo SNES controller -- with money
Importers NCSX and Play-Asia are freeing us from the unavailability of awesome Japanese Club Nintendo exclusives -- presumably, by paying some Japanese people for theirs. Whatever methods they use to get these things, we cannot argue with the results. Because the result is the opportunity to preorder the Super Famicom Classic Controller.Both companies will ship the item in April (and the Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack in January) in April, but NCSX is taking preorders right now for $30. We don't know when Play-Asia will open preorders or how much they will charge. All we know is this: YES. Who cares if it's a freebie for Club Nintendo members? We're just happy to have a shot at it.

I think I'd rather rig up my current snes pads. They're classics and don't have the fruity buttons.

Am I the only one more excited about the Mario Galaxy soundtrack? I mean, I love the SNES pad but the Classic Controller is like the exact same thing with the addition of analog sticks.

I'd rather have the Mario Galaxy soundtrack as well, though a complete Twilight Princess soundtrack (as opposed to a bootleg rip from the game, which I already have) would be nicer.
I've actually never touched a SNES controller in real life or played SNES games except in an emulator, so this doesn't have the kind of appeal it would for many of you. I was into the Genesis when the SNES came out, but to be honest I wouldn't really want a Wii Genesis controller either. For me the touchstone controllers are the (mostly awful) Colecovision stick/keypad combo, the original Vectrex analog stick, and of course, the enormous Atari joystick with a single orange button, despite never actually owning an Atari myself till the late 90's when I started writing games for it.

I don't get why people/you guys are so hyped over this. You can buy an adapter for your Wii that goes into the GCN controller slot that allows you to use a SNES controller at this link http://www.retrousb.com/index.php?categoryID=80. Most people have a SNES controller, so the $10 cheaper is a better deal I think.
PS I'm not advertising for them, just saw the link a while back, and thought I would mention it.

They were only purple in the US. You guys also got the stupid system design and wide cartridges.

Patrick makes a good point, but it's also nice to see that we at least have an opportunity to somewhat easily buy some of the great amounts of swag Club Nintendo members get over there.
Now if there was just a Club Nintendo here...
