Dojo update: Add some color to your Brawl
Being able to switch the color of your fighter is pretty much a given in any Smash Bros. game, and Brawl uses this feature to give us the likes of Fire Mario, Mario as Wario, an albino Donkey Kong, Dark Link, Fusion Suit Samus, and Snake in a variety of fetching camouflage designs.
Each character comes with six different variations, which can be toggled on the character select screen. To see more of these, hit the gallery below.

Personally, I was excited when I heard this news. I think it is definitely a good addition, as having the same looking people time and time again would get a little stale.
It's like custom skins for a game like CS. It just makes it a bit better.

Silver back DK looks sweet. I like all of them (even though Ike's costumes are a little blah) but they should have made blue Link wear the Zora tunic. Oh well, Dark Link looks killer.

There probably will be Zora Tunic Link, as Sakurai said there will be about 6 different variations for each character, and he only revealed a very small portion of these with the announcement.

I got really excited for some reason when reading this update. With as many as six different looks and A LOT of characters there is definitely variety there. It makes it really exciting. It makes ME really excited!!!

Wow! I'm really looking forward for Kirby's new costumes. wouldn't that be awesome if they gave Kirby some of his enemies's costumes? Like sword or fire Kirby? A man can dream.... a man can dream.

It seems the outfits are better this time. I mean, not just random colors for every character. Just look at Fusion Samus or Dark Link. Good update.

I don't understand why they do simple palette swaps; they could remove clones altogether by simply making them alternate skins/colors. For example, there was no reason for Dr. Mario and Young Link to be separate playable characters, they could have been alternate costumes for Mario and Link respectively. Fire Mario is definitely a nice palette swap, but blue and brown Mario? That's not canonical, dude.

Samus:
1. Varia Suit
2. Fusion Suit
3. Dark Samus
4. PED Suit
5. Phazon Suit
6. Gravity Suit
That way, people have reason to choose the alternate costumes, instead of the usual "Someone else picked the character first, so now I'm stuck with random-colored Mario."

Actually, it kind of is. In the Mario Bros. game, Mario wore a blue cap with a blue and red color scheme. The overalls in the Brawl pic appear to be a dark red and they may have been basing it of the Mario Bros. sprite.

I love the Fire Mario idea. I also think the Wario Mario is kind of funny. I'd much rather have a Waro Mario than a real playable Wario.
Am I the only one who thinks that Wario is the dumbest character ever? Seriously, farting attack? Magically whip out a motorcycle and drive over people? I think it's just dumb. But I'm sure his farting will get out a laugh from a bunch of 10-year-old Super Smash Bros. players...
