Want a Zapper? Go to a store!
One year ago, pretty much everyone failed to predict the success of the Wii. It looks like that may be happening on a smaller scale this week, as online retailers appear to already be out of Zapper/Link's Crossbow Training packs. The ones that aren't out of stock have yet to receive their stock, showing a release date of tomorrow. As of right now, EB/GameStop, Amazon, CompUSA, Sears, and Wal-Mart are "backordered" or "out of stock." Buy.com, Target, and Circuit City list it as coming out tomorrow. Toys R Us, Outpost.com/Fry's, Best Buy, Micro Center and KMart refuse to acknowledge the peripheral's existence.
Basically, it looks like if you want one of these things, you're going to have to go outside. Try (the physical locations of) Wal-Mart, CompUSA or Sears where, if the in-store prices match the online prices, you'll be charged the MSRP rather than the premium $25 price some retailers are sticking on there. Of course, shark guns remain cheap and plentiful.

I had to pre-order mine in a line of about 20 pre-orders. Luckily my school is right next to the mall, so I just ran across the street and picked it up before I made my way home.
So far I like it. It makes me even more excited to get MoH:2 and Ghost Squad. The crossbow training includes much more than I would have expected as far as content goes.

Wait. . . what? Shortage?
I was just at Gamesotp in Brea, CA not 10 minutes ago picking up my copy of Mass Effect and I saw them stocking about 30 of them.
The box is smaller than I thought it'd be.
I seriously don't think this thing is gonna be that hard to get.

Got the last one at a Toys R Us around 4pm this afternoon. The guy looked reluctant to give it up.

Got mine this morning. Link's Crossbow Training is fun, but Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 in Arcade Mode is where it's at. I haven't had that much fun with a videogame in a long time.
Honestly, it's a great little peripheral that I feel is going to enjoy pretty broad support over the years.

I'm holding out for a $9.99 version that doesn't include Link's Crossbow Training, or a 2 pack for $19.99. Seriously who needs only one of these things?

I was able to pick one up at a Gamestop close to me. They got a dozen zappers in at noon and by 5pm they were down to three. Picked up the zapper and put a deposit and Ghost Squad and Brawl. Plus they gave me one of those commemorative coins for the pre-ordered Super Mario Galaxy for some reason :)

I bought it today as a christmas present for my brother. Target had none, and Gamestop only had three sitting out when I arrived (two after I bought one).
Oh, and it was $25. That sucked, but that seemed to be the going price everywhere I looked (online and IRL).

my best buy has them, they are $20, we are almost sold out tho...

I went to Target today and they had around 7 of them. I didnt expect them to get as popular as I'm hearing, but I guess they are pretty cool.

I like the zapper with links crossbow training
I got my zapper on monday at wal-mart for $20

I'm gonna wait till I can get the damn game by itself -- the Zapper looks so crappy I'm not willing to pay even a token amount for it. But the game is a Zelda license, so I can't just *not* buy it... oh, the dilemma!

I got one yesterday at my local gamestop. I have purchesed the wii shotgun blaster a while back and was EXTREEMLY disappointed with it and returned it the next day. I played some MoH:heros 2 last night (EA name T Med) and it wasnt so bad, I think i like playing without it better tho. I have yet to play the crossbow training, maybe tomorrow when i have a day off work. HAPPY THANKSGIVING ALL!
