Wolfenstein planned for the DS

The announcement of this game is not official, but id's John Carmack and Anna Kang told Wired about their plans in a recent interview. The husband and wife developers also mentioned that they would like to bring Quake Arena to the DS, and id's recent DS release Orcs & Elves to the Wii.

Sounds like a blast!

There are 2 homebrew ports of this game, both work wonderfully.

I would buy this. Mainly because my original wolf3d 3.5"s don't work anymore! Orcs and Elves remains a big "maybe". What about a port of Super Noah's Ark 3D? Probably not, huh... Oh well.
Also, Quake would be a lot of fun, no matter which control scheme you they go with.
I kinda wish they'd just make an all new fps if they're going this route. Those old level designs really can't be that hard to mix around a bit.

I would buy a faithful Doom/Doom II/Hexen/Hexen II port. I would not buy a Wolfenstein port.
I could be persuaded to purchase a NEW shooter with modernized graphics and capabilities based in the Wolfenstein universe, that's fine. Otherwise, nein.

There are also Hexen and Heretic homebrew ports that work very well.

I still have it...

Quake Arena sounds like it would be good. As for Wolfenstein, I would certainly hope it is a new game and not just a port.

Wolfenstein didn't have free look. The whole appeal of the FPS on the DS is the stylus as free look. Without free look it's just another POS like Ecks vs. Sever if anyone remembers that GB Advance gem. Sure it was neat but why pay money to take a step back?
Trogdor @ Nov 17th 2007 11:50AM
NEIN!!!I'm not paying for some cheap old port! If they made a new wolfenstein with new graphics, new controls, free-looking, online multiplayer, then I'd get it. But not some rehash.
