Tecmo reads Wii Fanboy -- (not really) CONFIRMED

When we wrote about the adorable Tecmo Bowl-inspired costume in Swing Golf Pangya 2nd Shot!, we mentioned a couple of other Tecmo game characters we would like to see playing cutesy golf, making sure to name the most ridiculous-looking Tecmo characters we could think of at the time. Specifically, we said "We're looking forward to future Rygar and (especially) Mighty Bomb Jack costumes, ourselves."

The official Swing Golf Pangya 2nd Shot! homepage was just updated with a bunch of new Tecmo-related costumes, and who do we see? It's Mighty Bomb Jack! And Rygar! True, it's the "new look" Rygar from the Wii port, and not real Rygar, but close enough for us to feel completely responsible for this development.

The game also features character designs from Tokobot, Ninja Gaiden, and Solomon's Key, all of which are adorable. But we have to test our theory that Tecmo grants our wishes: This game would be awesome if you could play as a Tecmo Stacker.

Wow, now I don't know if you're half-seriously apologizing, seriously apologizing, or making fun of me, or some combination of them.

I obviously don't think I had anything to do with this. It's just lolworthy to say I did.

No no I am being serious about the apology and I think that either a) you actually did influence them and don't even know it or b) just have really good taste and instincts and 'totally called it' but either way you deserve props. I think its highly lolworthy and I am just laughing cuz I hope they add the Tecmo Stacker so you will know if you are the cause behind all this, that's a good way to check. I wouldn't make fun of you, b!

Possible, Itagaki is very egocentric, and i wouldn't put it past him to have the time he doesn't spend building the goodness of Ninja Gaiden 2/DS to just search teh interwebs for any mention of himself or his company

Scout - Dana (from Solomon's Key)
Hana - Tokobot(?) (from... Tokobot)
Uncle Bob - Jack (from Mighty Bomb Jack)
