The Wii Guitar Hero controller works just fine

To be honest, we've always thought of Guitar Hero as a casual series, even though Hard Mode and above are too hard for us. This perception is mostly due to the fact that it's so popular. But Josh3D's performance of Dragonforce's "Through the Fire and Flames" destroys that perception and any other thoughts we may have been having. After completing the song, he takes off the guitar controller, revealing the Wiimote held inside, therefore confirming that this video depicts the Wii version of Guitar Hero III.

Some of you may contend that this person could have spent more time learning skills that are applicable in real life instead of practicing Guitar Hero so much, but Josh3D has clearly exited our reality and entered one in which it's possible to do this. Who knows what kinds of skills are useful there?

Any idea if the Guitar Hero for the Wii will have online play?

This will be the only reason I purchase the Wii version over any other and I find it becoming a primary reason I purchase any game now for any system.

I question whether the in-game stuff in the beginning is from the Wii, since there's really no way to tell, but the lighting doesn't look on par to the 360, so it's possible. youtube video doesn't give me much of an idea of what the original quality was anyway.

Secondly, GH is both a ridiculously casual title and a ridiculously hardcore title. Anyone can enjoy it, but it really takes a talented gamer to beat the game on expert. As for myself, I'm so ready for GH3 since I five-starred almost all of the GH2 songs on expert already.

Yes, there's online play for GH3 Wii. Unfortunately, though, there's not going to be any downloadable content (at least as far as they are saying now). So what you see is what you get on the Wii, whereas you can buy new tracks on the 360 and PS3 versions (for absolutely crazy-high prices, though).

If you have a 360, that's the version to get, though the extra features the Wii remote adds to the guitar (sound and rumble) are pretty cool. If you have just a Wii, you can still enjoy this game since there's supposed to be more than 70 songs.

Downloadable Content will probably come through wii ware, there was an interview where the developers said they are planning to use downloadable content and are working with nintendo to allow it.

Wow this is just amazing. I like how that we are able to see the whole song besides just part of it with the solo taken out (the beginning of the video where he isn't playing). At least there doesn't seem like there is any delay what so ever from guitar to Wii system. God I want this game even more now after seeing this.

Interesting how the video is just the demo they showed months ago, except this time with name tag imposed over the video a guy taking off a controller to look like he was doing it.

Because the new game will have all wireless guitars, will there be any lag between when you flick the strum bar and when it actually happens on screen? especially with the wii version, because on some wii games the remote-to-console travel time is a little slow
