Okami returns -- as a rumor

It's the rumor that just won't die -- and now it's back for a second round. Or maybe it's more like sixth by now. Some blogs are rumbling that Capcom announced a long-awaited and much-hoped-for port of the PS2 title Okami to the Wii at their London event. It's being called confirmed, but after everything that's been said about the possibility of the port in the past, we're waiting for an official press release before we chime in ourselves ... or better yet, a copy of the game in our hot little hands. Hell, we'll settle for screens or video. We're easy to please.

Other sources are reporting the opposite, but Capcom's Christian Svensson said to expect more announcements later this week, so grab your popcorn and we'll see how this one plays out. What are you wishing for, while we're tossing around possible ideas? Anyone up for a little God Hand?

I think the Okami rumor won't die because of the fact when you play Okami you just can totally see it being played with a Wiimote... Only thing better then Okami on the Wii would be a Nintendo DS spinoff with the touch screen... both are equally feasable.

I think Okami will find the audience it deserves on the Wii. Here's hoping this will be confirmed soon.

'eh? Wha? Huh? Did someone mention God Hand, the Greatest Game Ever?

I would love to see both games ported to the Wii. I already own two copies of God Hand (my original copy got wet and I wanted a pristine cover)...and I'd STILL buy a 3rd copy. It's THAT good.
But I can see NO possible way for God Hand to be ported to the Wii without fundamentally gutting it. That game is hard enough as it is without having to sacrafice the controls.
...now, God Hand 2 made especially for the Wii would be awesome.
Hell, I want sequels to ALL the Clover games. They left the door wide open on all of them for sequels. God Hand 2, Okami 2 and Viewtiful Joe 3.
Damn you, Capcom. Damn you for shuttering Clover. Honestly, if Clover made consoles, I'd switch allegiances and become a Clover Fanboy.

But yeah...if we have to have an Okami port to get an Okami sequel (hopefully by the original team), then I'm all for it and will happily re-buy Okami.

Also, I'll give just about anything for a new game featuring the original Mega Man...on the Wii, of course.
