First trailer of Mii integration in Mario & Sonic at the Olympics
As you can see above, the inclusion of your own Mii in Mario & Sonic at the Olympics isn't anything all too special. It's pretty much what you'd expect. While we're fairly sure that we could hold our own fencing against Sonic (from what we've seen, this is the first time he's ever held a sword), we're certain racing against Sonic would only be an embarrassment.

I can't wait to pit my Mii version of Mario against the "real" Mario.
Also I wonder if you choose stats for your Mii or what, since all the Mario/Sonic characters have different attributes.
Brandon_IT @ Oct 15th 2007 11:59AM
It looks like you pick a character-base for your Mii to use. Did you notice that the Mii results had character names when the scores were displayed? Like the guy had "Shadow" display when he did the hammer throw? Or "Peach" for the girl's Mii?
My guess is you would pick a character's stats to use, but then your Mii would be the character art.
I just hope the displayed name can be changed to the name of the Mii. Otherwise, it just seems kinda silly...

I think that's a good question. Makes me wonder if the Mii's don't just replace one of the mascots, since all the Mii's in this video are named like 'Peach,' 'Tails' or whatver. You know? That might make sense. I would like to know more about the fencing mechanics in this game. Isn't that something we can chalk up to Shigeru's influence on this game, as fencing is something he enjoys? I can swear I heard that somewhere. I would like to have an interview with him about this game. I'm about 75% on the fence about this one, meaning I am pretty sure I'm going to buy it but I would love to have some really good reasons why to make me feel more confident.
1. Mario & Sonic @ the Olympic Games
2. Super Mario Galaxy
3. Wii Zapper
4. RE: Umbrella Chronicles
5. Soul Calibur Legends
I am thinking about getting all these for the rest of the year. Of course, SSBB was on this list until it got moved to right before my birthday.

Curse you! I took too long with my long-winded comment and now look! I look like a raving, ranting, yammering lunatic saying the same thing after you only with a bunch of bull after and between it! Curse me!

LOL. Nice Troy.
About your games for the end of 2007. I'd choose:
1. Mario Galaxy
2. RE: Umbrella Chronicles
3. Guitar Hero III
4. Need for Speed PROSTREET
5. The Simpsons
6. Medal of Honor (maybe)

Those Miis should be called for disorderly conduct: they were aiming below the belt while fencing against Sonic and Robotnik (I refuse to acknowledge Eggman)...
KH Fan @ Oct 15th 2007 1:27PM
Oh, I'm with you %100. There aren't words to adequately describe my pure derision and disgust for this "Eggman" nonsense. I don't care if it's what he was originally called in Japan. Megaman was originally called "Rockman" in Japan, and we're not changing his name over here.

Looks all well and good but do we really *need* (or want) another mini games compilation for the Wii? Even one that lets you fence with mario and sonic?
I'd say not. I want more 'proper' games please.
Bored of being jealous of an xbox 360 as they have bioshock - we in the UK haven't even got Metroid Prime yet!
bacon @ Oct 15th 2007 3:11PM
okay iagree wit them but ello sonic's nickname for robotnik was EGGMAN!
Sonic_13 @ Oct 15th 2007 3:16PM
I think that is cool - being able to put yourself in the game and directly compete against video game legends.
student @ Oct 15th 2007 3:55PM
did anyone else think the black mii was naked the first time they saw him at the starting line?
Looks like a cool feature though... provided you can keep your name
KH Fan @ Oct 15th 2007 4:14PM
"okay iagree wit them but ello sonic's nickname for robotnik was EGGMAN!"
The keyword being NICKNAME. That doesn't mean it should be his ACTUAL name. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles mockingly called Shredder "shred-head," but that doesn't mean the writers should have made it his actual name.

The Miis look so much better with proportioned bodies rather than the stick figure or limbless bodies they have in Wii Sports. They even have fingers! lol
