Wii Fit gets price and release date for Japan
Wii Fit received a price and release date for the Japanese public today, following suit with the rest of the updates Nintendo dropped on all of us. Requiring an entrance fee of 8,800 yen, which comes to $75, we're sure most of you will see this as a fair price for the new peripheral and software. Hey, you can't put a price on your well-being, right?
As for the question of a release date, the title will hit retail shelves in the region in time for the holidays on December 1st.

"Hey, you can't put a price on your well-being, right?"
Well, apparently it's 75$.

In order for it to sell they need to give more of a reason to buy(I AM GETTING IT THOUGH) it. Eventhough the wii is on the make-alot-of-money- train,THEY NEED A PLAN.I hope Nintendo is not getting arrogant or complacent with their foes because just as fast as they rose to power they can fall (to the death too). Selling the touch generation games so cheap was and is genius, that should be their plan with WII FIT.

The american economy is in dire constraint and any one who tells you otherwise is a boldface liar. Mortgages are too heavy a burden and the debt that we americans incur is quite astounding. That is why everybody is trying to turn a profit in retail to just break even or achieve a little profit. Nintendo is winning this war with competitive pricing and great products, one misstep and the mighty giant could come tumbling down. They are doing alright so far with the VC shopping technique(i.e cheap enjoyable, and successful games) and if someone buys a card a week for a month thats a hundred dollars which equals "Successfullnessosity".

See, if they wait to long to bring in out here in the US then they could shoot themselves in the foot. American husbands generally have a tough time buying their wives presents for Xmas. If you could buy your wife a present with a $325 price tag, that is with a Wii. They could even further cement their lead on the competition. Just a thought don't even know if this is possible, but i can't wait until it comes out.

The Wii balance board is the reason I started getting excited about the Wii. When it was announced and I saw the demos is when I decided I needed to get a Wii sooner rather than later (I was already planning on getting one eventually).
As a prior owner of the NES Power Pad (Which could work you into a sweat in about 5 mins) I have high hopes for the Wii balance board.
It seems to me from the days of the NES that Nintendo always had a vision of what is possible with video games. However the limited hardware capabilities and the niche video game market prevented Nintendo from fully realizing their vision. It seems that with the Wii they are now able to put their vision to the test. I'm ready for the ride!
SEGA, Sony, and now Microsoft have always been 1 trick ponies, ie better hardware for better graphics.
Nintendo always tried to innovate since they started on the NES but have had little success outside of the 'hard-core gaming' genre.
With all these new peripherals coming out for the Wii I hope more of them make it into the main-stream so that we can actually get even more high quality interactive goodness!
Some of the other interactive devices that were released years ago...
Light Gun, Power Glove, Power Pad, R.O.B., Modem Expansion, Disk System...
Also don't forget the ill-fated Virtual Boy (which I actually bought for $30)

Ok, here is a quote from this page:
Wii Fit: "Hey, you can't put a price on your well-being, right?"
Ok. Well. I don't know about anyone else, but it seems obvious to me that you'd become more "fit" in the outside world, doing real sports that get you out of breath than if you stayed at home and moved from side to side.
Furthermore:
A) I don't need a scrawny white box to dance, do press ups, do yoga, lean different ways, stick my legs out or head a football.
B) It costs hardly anything to buy a hoola hoop, so why buy a box for $75 to pretend to use one.
C) I'm only 14, but I know for certain that if I had children I would want them to be outside with their friends, getting exercise. I wouldn't want them alone in the living room in front of a screen for the rest of their childhood.
The whole idea of not just Wii Fit but also the Wii is just strange and pointless to me. I'd rather actually play the sports in real life than pretending to do them on a screen inside my house and I'd rather go on a 360 for games. Bad move Nintendo.
