Choro-Q takes a road trip to Wiiville

Nintendo 64 racing fans will recognize Takara's Choro Q series as Penny Racers. Conspiracy Games localized a few other games in the series under the Road Trip banner, which somebody might have seen at some point. But everyone, no doubt, will recognize the cars: squatty caricatures of real vehicles with a slot in the back for an exciting penny, which causes the cars to freak out and spin around.

There aren't so many pennies or freakouts in the video game version, just driving tiny cars around in everyday environments. We hate to call forth the angry "GRAPHICS DON'T MATTER" comments, but without playing the new Wii game, all we have to go on is graphics, and it doesn't really look like much has changed since 1998. We're not saying the game won't be fun-- just putting our two cents in.

Graphics DO matter, in as much as art direction is important and having some aesthetic sense. After seeing great looking games on Wii I just don't know why some developers (ok, fine, a lot of developers) seem to feel ok about not even trying in this department. The Wii -isn't- worse than lastgen systems by far, so why is it looking worse? Nobody seems to be trying but Nintendo, and then the 3rd parties complain about Nintendo's success on its own platform.

PATHETIC AND SAD doesn evn diserve to be a real game. They should jus transfer it ever 2 the vc or wii ware

Ok graphics dont mater its true, wel that is if they dont look like they are from 8 or 9 years ago to tell the truth!
The Wii is beter than the gamecube ok its proven and it has soe quite nice looking games too, so the machine can produce so quite nice graphics.
but why oh why do so many companies produce games that woudl not of been out of place on the n64 never mind a game cube. I mean if they loked like they should be on a game cube.

Also another point i have to make is they keep saying that the Wii would not be able to produce a GTA game, ok i hope thy mean the newest incarnation of the game because if the Wii is as good as a ps2 and that had GTA games on it and it must be better than a PSP and that had GTA games on it so theoretically why cant we have a GTA game i mean not the new all sining dancing game engine for the ps3/x360 but a cross bread one from the old game engine and new one!?!?
