Link's Crossbow Screening
If you've been dying to see Link with a crossbow, this is your day. The latest Nintendo Power shows off a few screens from Link's Crossbow Training, and much like Twilight Princess, they're very brown. The images also demonstrate the controls -- yes, there's more than just pointing and shooting -- but we're still unconvinced that the Zapper is worth even the experience in training Link up with a new weapon. We'll just have to wait and see.

The Gorons screenshot reminds me of the super troopers scene with the crotch shooting range...
RupeeClock @ Sep 27th 2007 3:21PM
My god, those Gorons are just asking for it.

It kind of reminds me of Resident Evil meets Zelda.
I just hope there's some sort of decent storyline involved with this game.

wow they just reused all the textures and stuff from LOZTP. LAME! This better be under $30
Zan @ Sep 27th 2007 3:49PM
Maybe, maybe not. Depends on quality of Zapper.

Wow, you're an idiot. That's what they announced in the first place. Oh and it will be a package deal like Wii Play so the game for a few extra dollars is no big deal. Looking forward to on rails shooters from Capcom, Sega and NIntendo Gods willing Namco.

I doubt there will be a storyline of any kind. You get a crossbow, you shoot stuff. That's it. It's a hardware training demo like Wii Sports - probably a lot of fun, but mostly a demo.
Is it bad that I'm going to wait until the game is sold to a second hand store to pick it up? I don't want the Zapper at all but will probably pick this up for $5 at Gamestop a month later.

Looks kind of fun. Although I don't understand why they're introducing a gun accessory with a crossbow game....
Michael K. @ Sep 27th 2007 7:55PM
I wasnt expecting anything like this to come with the zapper, so this just made me want one for more than umbrella chronicles. it should be a fun little game, and the gorons are too funny, I just want to shoot them, cant wait.
DBuck_Eye @ Sep 27th 2007 8:55PM
If they had coop on ranger mode, then this would be a first day buy, but alas, they only have alternating.
Max Headroom @ Sep 27th 2007 9:22PM
It's only $20 (US), so it seems like a good deal, regardless of the quality of the game. It does have 3 different shooting modes, so there's 3 chances that we'll find something we like.
vidGuy @ Sep 27th 2007 9:36PM
It seems like people don't get this:
Link's Crossbow Training is packaged with the Wii Zapper, sold together for $20.
flo @ Sep 28th 2007 6:12PM
metroid would have been better
troy @ Sep 27th 2007 11:19PM
Yeah, I don't understand where the confusion comes in. Go to walmart, it will be $19.88. If you turn up your nose at that for the zapper AND a Zelda shooting game, you are insane. I am getting it right off the bat. And shooting lots and lots of things with it.
troy @ Sep 27th 2007 11:20PM
PS These scans are grainy as crap, but I think from the picture here by the bridge or whatever http://jeux-france.com/Webmasters/Images/60951520070927_112355_0_big.jpg that the graphics are going to be a little better than in TP, just a little bit more up to speed. I could be wrong.

@angelbabe531:
A crossbow is held the same way the Zapper is. Which is why this "game" has Link with a crossbow instead of his standard bow.
Don @ Sep 28th 2007 5:05AM
I'm tired of people telling me it's going to suck when they haven't even tried it. But I hope it doesn't. It's almost a guaranteed buy for me, even though I've never played a Zelda game before. The zapper just seems like it'd be fun. As long as it gets good upcoming titles support.
