Project O trailer better than our wildest dreams
We've had some pretty messed up dreams in our time -- like that one where we drove through the mall in a robot octopus to pick up girls, beckoning eight of them at a time with our come-hither, mechanical arms -- so it's no small feat exceeding our sleeping imaginations. This trailer for King Story (Project O) does just that, however, seducing us in just its first fifteen seconds with an arrangement of Maurice Ravel's "Boléro."
The three-minute English trailer goes over a lot of what was already revealed in yesterday's site update, but the accompanying cartoon has more charm to it than a box of leprechaun cereal. In-game clips show off your cheering villagers, town building and maintenance, and even some combat with a spicy dragon! If this RPG/sim wasn't a "must buy" for you before, it should be now.

Whats his name? Hauser Oreganostein? Wow, I knew the Japanese have an affinity for German words but...
I love the trailer, looks like a fantastic game from what Ive seen so far.
Rocketman @ Sep 21st 2007 5:16PM
I've seen this game before. It's not Populous, but this game... I know I've seen it.
Oh right. It's Pikmin.
tiamat1990 @ Sep 21st 2007 5:18PM
I don't know how I feel about this....
Mr Khan @ Sep 21st 2007 5:22PM
@ Rocketman
No: It's Animal Crossing meets Pikmin
which seems awesome
flameofdoom666 @ Sep 21st 2007 5:43PM
seems interesting
Unbreakable_idea @ Sep 21st 2007 5:51PM
I'm not sure what the hell that just was. But I am, however, sure that the girl at the end of that video just gave me a semi. It's hot when chicks refer to you as King, even strangely animated ones (I've been trying to get my girlfriend to call me that for almost 4 years now). Sproing!
Unbreakable_idea @ Sep 21st 2007 5:54PM
oops, it was "Your Highness", and not king. I think I was distracted by that lollipop action, my mistake.
Lee @ Sep 21st 2007 5:59PM
Where can I find a vocal version of Boléro? That song is awesome!
Mugiwara Kaizoku @ Sep 21st 2007 7:05PM
Whoa, the story parallels King Arthur with the clumsy knight (Sir Pellinore) and the sudden random ascension to royalty and the quest to unite the world.
Matt @ Sep 21st 2007 7:11PM
Excellent use of Bolero. I'm looking forward to this one.
CUBeR64 @ Sep 21st 2007 9:03PM
Main character reminds me of Alex Kidd from SEGA :P being thrown into the Pikmin world lol

I thought I was watching a game brought to you by PBS. I do have to agree with number 4 that it looks like a cross between Pikmin and Animal Crossing. I was so interested in this game from hearing about it but now I have become kind of iffy about it.
Onomah @ Sep 22nd 2007 3:52AM
actually more like pikmin and harvest moon.
This game looks sooo cool. It is now decided, must buy.
Zan @ Sep 22nd 2007 5:03AM
Actually, not excited at all.
Mabui @ Sep 22nd 2007 8:45AM
... I'm not sure if I should be afraid, or inspired to buy it. I think I am more decidedly afraid, I mean, having to suffer through the obviously achingly sugar sweet-ness of the game, just because the actual play seems somewhat interesting.. maybe I'm not up for it..
Chyld989 @ Sep 22nd 2007 1:05PM
I wasn't so sure about this one before, but after seeing this I'll definitely rent it when it comes out, if not just buy it on release day (which I've only done for 3 other Wii games...it's definitely a system that wants you to rent the games first).
Hirsbrunner @ Sep 22nd 2007 2:17PM
Wow! Excellent use of Ravel's Bolero. I like their version, and it works really well in the trailer. Hope it's in the game.
Although, my favorite rendition is still the one by Benny Goodman & his Orchestra.

does anyone else wonder how much these guys get paid to say things like "If this RPG/sim wasn't a "must buy" for you before, it should be now."?

I'm die hard Nintendo and a huge Zelda and Metroid fan. I read that Wiifanboy is excited about a game and the first shot of the game I see is a boy probably no older than f!@#ing 5! I'm getting tired of the of childish mentality that developers take towards Nintendo and only getting 1 out of a dozen "mature" games. And mature doesn't have to be sex and violence but just something that might have more grown up themes or characters.
I am NOT looking forward to this game.
Tyler @ Sep 23rd 2007 10:21AM
Wow. That was awesome.
Hirsbrunner @ Sep 24th 2007 11:56AM
Actually, I should add the Madison Scouts' version of Bolero, too. Drum corps is the shiznit.

Codester @ Oct 7th 2007 11:20AM
