DS Daily: Official sites
The official website is just part of marketing a game these days -- nearly everyone's got one. One other thing is the same as well: they almost always have the same content! Character bios, screenshots, wallpaper, and the occasional trailer ... and while they're usually fun to dip into, can't we have something more? Some games go the extra mile and offer different types of content, like mini demos, but usually the best you can hope for is a site with frequent updates. Does this work for you, or do you crave something more? What are some of your favorites?[Shirt found here, but bloggers are everywhere.]

The Japanese Gyakuten Saiban 4 (Ace Attorney 4) site is pretty awesome. It has a playable Flash demo of the game (I believe a good chunk of the first case). It's just too bad I can't read Japanese. I wouldn't be surprised if the American website for Ace Attorney 4 when the time comes doesn't have this feature.
Polarium's website has a playable demo as well. This is a pretty good representation of the actual game. If I actually liked the game, this would be a great site.

I typically hit up official sites for wallpaper and/or MP3s (if they have them) and not much else.
As an exception, one official site I've greatly enjoyed (and visit on a daily basis) is the Smash Bros. Dojo. I enjoy reading the daily updates, and I'm looking forward to Super Smash Bros. Brawl even more now as a result.

Its not just games you know. Generally, the official site for anything is crap with style over substance. Take official movie sites for example, flash-heavy and slow loading, with plenty of fancy graphics but little to no worthwhile content. Maybe a wallpaper or two. Fan sites are generally much better.

Smash Bros. Dojo has daily updates. Completely and totally awesome to keeping us hyped.

I generally avoid official websites, but recent memory conjures the great Etrian Odyssey website. The comic poking fun at the shortcomings of the game was great...never did buy the game, though. Maybe it didn't work so well.
I, too, check Smash Bros. Dojo every day or two. Now if only I could actually find a Wii on the shelves before December...
