EU GameStop list filled with placeholders, excitement
Are we ready for another Red Steel? Some of us found many redeeming qualities in the flawed title and are excited about a sequel, but we hope for a lot of fixes in the meantime. Ubisoft has apparently been working on the sequel since wrapping up the first title, but we can only hope they've taken enough time this go-round. But enough about that -- let's talk about the rest of the list, which you can find after the break. Wii Fit in February? That sounds about right, though the actual date is probably a placeholder. But the best news for European gamers is that it looks like a lot of these titles aren't suffering from the massive delay that so often plagues releases. That can only be a good thing ... for everything except your wallet, that is.

Red Steel was a fine game at 30 bucks. Although its Sword-Combat was flawed (Try doing some katas, the ones that depend on nunchuck (read: all of them) are near-impossible to do, except by accident)).
The story was ok, the controls could use some improvement, but it was a fine game after all.
I'm actually looking forward Red Steel 2.

I really hope these dates are accurate... It's my birthday in mid October... what better present than Mario Galaxy and MP3:C?

They dropped the ball on Red Steel #1, in my opinion. However, the concept was killer, and it had the potential to be HUUUUUUUUGE. I'm glad they're giving it another try, and hope they don't blow it. Still nothing but potential for greatness, here.

Red Steel is a fine game indeed. Sure, the controls are a bit whacky but I took some pleasure in trying to make them work and they did (even those near-impossible deflecting ones). My main issue was that I needed to thrust the wiimote a little too far forward to slow down time - shit kinda gets tiring after a while.
And I also had no idea the game was $30; probably would've purchased it after I rented it. Oh well, I am most definitely excited about the sequel.

Red Steel, imho, wasn't a horrible FPS, but it still wasn't as great as Halo. I'm still hoping for a sequel because it has a great concept but unfortunatly had to be rushed to make it a launch game.

If they fix the terrible flaws in Red steel 1
RS2 could be a pretty sweet game. I read somewhere they are using the same control method as Corruption, so thats definatly a start.

What "terrible flaws" are you talking aboutt wiifanboy?
I swear for such a title this website really kills my spirit.
Red Steel wasn't perfect of course. But calling it flawed is a lil harsh in my opinion. The multiplayer was excellent and the storyline was great. The gameplay was also great. Other than the controls and the swordfighting (which I enjoyed) needing to be tweaked I don't see how Red Steel was so "terrible".
It seems like theres hardly anything positive on wiifanboy. Either its, "Is the Wii fad going to run out soon?" poll or the "Are you still having trouble seeing Wiis in store after ALL these months?".
The answer is No to the first and mostly Yes to the 2nd. However the latter one is slowly being changed.
Add in the "reviews" and the numerous articles about the "quirky controls" and....well you get my point.
Excited for Red Steel 2 though! Thanks for that lil bit of info!
