I'll take that Wii to go
As far as patents go, Nintendo could very well be working on a portable device with some Wii capabilities. Filed in March, the patent discusses "a housing to be held by a player. The housing incorporates an XY-axis acceleration sensor to detect an acceleration in an X-axis and Y-axis direction and a Z-axis contact switch to detect an acceleration in a Z-axis direction." While it could not be plans for a portable Wii, it could very well be plans for an accessory to the console.

This is CRAZY! I have read that sort of and it seems INSANE, all this talk of game space and background changes... what could this all MEAN for the future of gaming? DUN DUN DUN! (that's dramatic music)

Like the DS motion cart which already exists and can be used for some pretty good homebrew?

Is it just me, or is there something in there that everyone's assuming means this is in relation to the Wii and not just motion-sensing for the DS? I scanned the PTO link, but my head exploded after the first screen of mumbo-jumbo.

do you guys just look at articles that other sites posted a couple of days ago when you can't think of something to write about?

They're not lazy. Just not as well funded and staffed as the bigger sites. Besides, give it up for the shoot-em-ups!

Troy, what you said reminded me of what the creator of Eye Toy wanted to do with the PSP camera.
I hope either comes to fruition because it could be really cool if done right. The PSP Eye Toy thing really got me excited how he was describing seeing the image of say a restaurant table on your screen (what you're pointing the camera at), super-imposed little guys walking around the surface, and moving the game system like a spaceship to aim and dodge while firing on those little creatures. Would be awesome but I think it's still a ways off.
