The chicks dig the Wii in Spain

If there's anything we take seriously around here, it's surveys. And, given the results of a recent one conducted in Spain, people there are serious about the loving the Wii. That's something we can get behind. Seriously.

Redundant adjectives aside, this is quite a feat, considering the country had a bad taste in its mouth from Nintendo's last console, the GameCube, where it only sold 200,000 units. The Wii doesn't have that problem, however, as it has shown to be a hit, especially with the older crowd and women in the country.

I bet if you polled worldwide you'd find a large percentage of women love Wii. And most of them love Nintendo's console, too. ;)

Seriously, though, I've personally seen females ranging from 10 to 60 going crazy to play the Wii and most never touched videogames before. Pretty neat effect.

She's not on her knees anyway. IIRC it's a still from a promo video (or maybe there's a wider version of the shot)... but she's just bending at the knees to hit a low ball in Tennis.

As a female Wii player (just got mine 2 weeks ago; have had GC for several years), I have to say one thing I love about the Wii....I've had to put up with my husband making fun of me for the last several years. When I'm furiously pounding away, I sometimes move the remote in the direction I want the character/punch/car/whatever to go. He's always said, "is that going to make it happen faster/stronger/sooner/whatever?" and of course the answer was no. All I have to say now is :P

Other than that, I have no clue why this would suddenly be more popular with women! Especially women who haven't gamed before!!
