Endless Ocean teaches everyone how to sink a game with nasty, nasty bugs
Endless Ocean was released into the wild today in Japan (as Forever Blue on that side of the pond), and it seems not all is flowing smoothly for Arika's peaceful diving game. Early adopters are reporting large numbers of game crashing bugs, with specifically reproducible instances when adding shark rays into your aquarium. While there's still time before it's arrival on U.S. shores later this year, this certainly doesn't bode well for its prospects in either country's waters. Some of us weren't all that excited about Arika's glorified aquarium screensaver anyway, but now we have an excuse to be downright critical of it!
No word yet on whether the much beloved penguins have the potential to fry your system as well.

I sort of like Jpop but man alive was that out of place.

Wow, after that horrible music I was waiting for the annoying buzzing sound!
Wiitard @ Aug 2nd 2007 2:46PM
liked the J-POP but..erm..where's the gameplay and WTF is up with that loading buzz?
Soiden @ Aug 2nd 2007 2:43PM
Complaining about the music?
bc @ Aug 2nd 2007 3:00PM
Geez - the horrible music is the player's - you can load custom MP3 soundtracks a la Excite Truck. The buzzing is the game crashing! Not the loading sound (geez, again).
Hope these bugs get fixed before the U.S. release!

There is no sin greater than creating a rushed, bug filled game and selling it to the public at full price knowing full well that it's not completely debugged. If that is the case here, even if the game is fixed before it comes out stateside, I cannot support a company that would allow this to happen in any market. There is no excuse for this sort of terrible lack of quality control/testing. Shame on you Arika. Shame on you.

Ouch, i played it with the sound off, because the GC/Wii Freeze buzz is one of the most irritating sounds on earth (which i experienced frequently on the fun-filled bug-fest that was PSO), but that doesn't look good
Of course, they healed Guilty Gear before localizing, right? Certainly it can be fixed before localization

Yeah, my Wii has actually pulled the buzzing noise on multiple games, Red Steel was one of them and I think the others were mostly gamecube games. Nothing new to me. :(

Talk about a refreshing...boring-a-hole-in-my-skull noise...anything to get rid of that music.
Though I must say, it did fit the serene environment...

Yeah, I got that lovely noise once too... can't remember what I was doing to deserve it though.
That last song sounds like Japanese Hampsterdance.
Fist Drark @ Aug 2nd 2007 9:31PM
IGN doesn't seem to have come across any bugs yet. Their playtest review makes the experience sound quite pleasant save for low MP3 quality...

not sure what's worse, the bugs or that noone appreciates Miko Miko Nurse o.o
seriously though, i was looking forward to this.. hope they fix the bugs

I'll most certainly buy the game when it comes out though. But only if they fix the bugs.
The game seems so serene, I would love to just relax and play the game.
