Dojo update: Zero Laser

Over at the dojo, we're given a look at the Final Smash maneuver for Samus. Dubbed the Zero Laser, the maneuver shows Samus letting loose a shot from her arm cannon that is so supercharged, it causes her own suit to fall to her feet, nothing more than a pile of scrap. The thing has serious screen-clearing power.

Hmmm...this may mean that you can only do one "Final Smash" per match, or maybe Zero Suit Samus has her own "Final Smash," because she definitely doesn't have the huge blaster normal Samus has.

Her suit is also still a bona fide weapon that can be thrown when off of her. Another question is if she dies or over time can she regain her suit. And although it clears up what happened in the first trailer does this mean Zero Suit Samus will or won't be available from the select screen.

Maybe it will be available as an optional character too, since it was listed as a newcomer, and this final smash is just a way to give them a mortal blow then change character.

Wait a minute.. Does this mean that Zero-Suit Samus is not a selectable character and can only be used after Samus' Final Smash. Controversial!

OR when you are KO'd next, you come back as Suit Samus.

My guess is that Zero Suit Samus will be governed like Sheik, once you transform you're stuck in that form (no matter how many times you die) until you do what it takes to transform back. Now with Zelda-Shiek it was just a press of a button

My bet is that Zero-Suit Samus will have her own Final Smash, something like "Suit Acquisition" where she goes through the motions that she did to get a new suit in the Metroid Prime series, with the suit arriving as energy and being converted to matter, and then Samus will be back

Or others here could be right, and this could be a one-thing deal. But that would really throw Samus off, especially for long matches. A time match that could take 8 minutes, you get Zero Suitted 2 minutes in, and suddenly you're sucking all over the place for the rest of the match...

Aw man, I so totally called this waaay back when they released that first trailer (plus when they stated that Samus would transform into Zero Suit Samus. I said, "Everyone gets a super move, and that giant blast is Samus's. And THAT'S how you transform."

well, one possible way to get it back is if the metal box item is still in the game, it can like form the suit for zamus instead of making her metally.

Anyway, I don't see this as being a problem issue, merely an interesting one. The idea that you can actually have an attack that permanently changes the way you play is very unique, as most people focus on the ability to change back and forth as a strength for Zelda, you can either be good with Sheik and supplement that with some of Zelda's more powerful attacks, or be good as Zelda and supplement that with Sheik's speed.
Not the case with Samus, as anyone who wants to master her will need to master both forms.
Some people may actually be better in Zero Suit form, but unless they are good with Regular Samus, they may not last long enough to grab the final smash ball. Alternately, if they're really good with regular Samus, they may never use the final smash ball until the absolute last second, putting a small hindrance on them.
It's definitely very interesting.
Basically, I see this as giving her a very steep learning curve. You'll have a major advantage if you get REALLY good with her, until then you'll suck balls.
