Video comparison of Metroid Prime 2 and Metroid Prime 3 graphics
The ironic thing about this video is that YouTube isn't the best as far as quality goes. Still, you can kind of get a picture (if you don't already have one) of just how improved the graphics are in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption compared to the previous title. And who can complain about more Metroid content?! Not us, and, we hope, certainly not any of you.
Head past the break for the video.

Theres no comparison i think M3 is going to be so much better!
Anonymous @ Jul 13th 2007 4:42PM
Does someone know where to get this awesome MP music from?
hvnlysoldr @ Jul 13th 2007 4:47PM
"We were kind of ready a while ago but they delayed us to put 'Twilight Princess' quality polish to the game. So while we can't point out the extra time gave us an extra level we can say we polished the entire game. Such that the backtracking this time around isn't as tedious and makes more logical sense. And we'll have the best first person adventure(shooter) on Wii."
Or something along those lines. Yeah I believe that extra time has made an awesome game and I can't wait for it. Definitely going to go buy and play through MP2:E to get myself ready.

Comment eaten if it's spit out I apologize.
If I recall correctly from an article posted before: "Our bosses delayed our game to give 'Twilight Princess' quality polish to MP3:C. So while we can't point out that we added an extra level, we can say we polished the whole game. Such that the backtracking won't be as tedious and will make more sense."
I'm awed by how prettier and smoother the game looks and from what I read in Nintendo Power the music is more epic feeling than ambient like MP2:E. Will buy that game so I'm up to date on the story.
brandon_r87 @ Jul 13th 2007 5:14PM
Maybe it's just the Youtube video, but they look about the same to me. Another part of it is that they didn't really have any comparable monsters. Either way, I'm psyched for this game. I still haven't finished Echoes though. Am I the only one that thought it was a step back from the first Prime?

1. I can tell a difference, but I would have appreciated comparable images, ie, morphballs for mp2 and mp3, ripley fights, etc.
2. This game really makes me want to go back and play the first two games! They were soooo good.

Honestly, I'd say mp1 was better than mp2, but I don't think mp2 was a bad title. What was so amazing about mp1 was that it introduced so many new elements to the series: 3d, fps, the AMAZING depth (seriously, everything was scanable. You have to admire that kind of depth!). While mp2 stuck with this formula, and did a fantastic job, it didn't introduce anything (that I can think of) new to the series. It expanded on the storyline, and didn't change what wasn't broken. Still a great game, though!
4. This game looks great!

1) If you're doing a comparison video how about some split screen?
2) or maybe even using the same type of content back to back?
3) I always thought it was Meh-troid instead of Me-troid

"3) I always thought it was Meh-troid instead of Me-troid"
It is. That guy is wrong, wrong-wrong.
Anyway, MP3:C is looking great, but I'm more concerned about the controls and getting some new gameplay off of MP and MP2. And, if Matt Cass is worth listening to (I think he is), we can expect good things - he says the controls are the best for an FPS he has ever played.
Charles @ Jul 14th 2007 1:50AM
wow...worst comparison video i have probably seen in my life for anything, ever!
Gordon @ Jul 14th 2007 2:34AM
I agree charles that was pretty poorly done comparison, but oh well im sure there will be other comparisons. and hey on Aug. 27 we can find out for ourselves if the graphics are that much better, and I havent beaten MP2 yet but so far I think I definetly enjoyed MP1 better.

Just A Little More (Prime Edit) by Darkesword.
On Topic: Metroid Prime 3 looks quite a bit better than MP2, but you can't really tell from Youtube, I guess.
Anticrawl @ Jul 14th 2007 5:11AM
Yeah I hate to say it, being such a huge Nintendo fan but I really see no difference. I meen it may be slightly better? How about some roll-over screens or some side by side pictures. Maybe ingame footage side-by-side or something.
This is a pretty depressing comparison video. I sure as hell hope I can tell I'm playing this sequal on a new console and not the same system as the other two.
Anticrawl @ Jul 14th 2007 5:13AM
Also "Meee Troid Prime", what the hell. He butchered that title.
It's a Meh sound, not a Me.
Serious Kano @ Jul 14th 2007 10:02PM
Windows Movie Maker, not even used very well...
That's the reason why there is no splitscreen.
Bad comparison, could have been done much better than this.
Fulluphigh @ Jul 14th 2007 11:36AM
It's called an accent. He has one.
And I must agree, this was a rather lame comparison video. The only thing it really achieved was making me realize how good looking MP2 was all over again.
Patrick @ Jul 14th 2007 3:34PM
Yeah, the video does suck. But you can still tell there are some improvements. I'm not going to judge the graphics of the game off of this video and not until I play it. I remember reading on IGN that the graphics are really damn good but for some odd reason they don't show in the pictures and the video that people show online. Anyways, I'm still fucking hyped for this game.
Mr Khan @ Jul 14th 2007 4:09PM
Well, the fact that its a flash video really killed it
If they had made it a downloadable video of some kind, they wouldn't have had to sacrifice quality
In all the higher quality videos i've seen, MP3 does look quite a bit better. Although i don't really care, i'd play it anyway
Joshua @ Jul 14th 2007 6:30PM
I have no idea what "mee-troid" is, but there was maybe a 1% difference between those two games' graphics in that video.
Preston @ Jul 15th 2007 9:27PM
You can get this song at www.ocremix.org it's called "Just a Little More" it's awesome :D
meet my friend roid @ Jul 31st 2007 11:22AM
MEATROID/Meet roid??? worst comparison ever. at least show the morph ball from MP2 after the morph ball scene from MP3.
Dont quit you day job.
