More Soul Calibur Legends details

Gaming mag Famitsu has revealed some more details about the upcoming Wii exclusive Soul Calibur Legends. We assume that the creators of this action title felt that choosing a main protagonist from the existing fighters would cause unnecessary flamefests, so they felt fit to introduce the sixteen year old Iska. Among playable characters are Taki, Mitsurugi, Ivy, and Siegfried (Nightmare), though interestingly, no one mentioned Iska himself.
Traditionally, the A and B buttons have mapped to horizontal and vertical slices, respectively. In true waggle fashion, Namco has felt fit to physically map these actions to the Wiimote. We're wary; the recognition will probably be fine, but seeing as how at least two-thirds of all moves in previous Soul Calibur titles involved the use of one (or both? What the heck?) of these actions, this might wear out its welcome very, very quickly. Also, the nunchuck is shaken for "evasion," whatever that means (guard impact?).
The title will allow for tag-teaming against a boss, as a second player can join in for cooperative fun. There's traps and obstacles and all that lovely goodness as well; for some more minor details, check out the in-depth IGN report. With the announcement of the true Soul Calibur 4 for the PS3 and 360 yesterday, are you guys still excited for this?

I am very excited for this game. I ADORE the Dreamcast version. I know this one will be different, but I am looking forward to this one.

This game is going to suck beyond reason. I mean are you guys really that dumb that you don't see whats going here? Instead of Resident Evil 5 Wii owners get Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles! WII! Oh praise Jesus! Thats bullshit. Oh but WAIT it gets better. While the 360 gets Soul Calibur 4 we get SOUL CALIBER LEGENDS! Thats just great!
In case you're not getting the sarcasm or the point I'll spell it out in plain English. Its stupid and dumb that Nintendo keeps allowing this 3rd Party companies to produce these shitty "side" game that have nothing to do with the MAIN series.
In short I'm glad I got a 360 because its becoming more and more clear how lacking the Wii is and will be in terms of decent main title games.

What will be even more bittersweet is when the spin-offs sell more than the main series due to the popularity of the platform and easier use.

Besides, it doesn't matter to me if they call the SC for Wii "Legends". At least it's wiixclusive and not a damn PSP port. I'm a bit skeptical about the waggle though. They'd better include VC-controller support.

SO who cares if its a Wii Exclusive? Are you serious? Do you think real fans of either series are going to give a shit when the REAL NEXT game in the series is right around the corner? As for sales just because something sells well doesn't mean its a great game.
Bottom line is that this is another game made to make Wii Owners forget the fact that these lazy idiots don't want to develop original games that are a part of the main series for the Wii. Just like we get Final Fantasy; Crystal Chronicles instead of the main Final Fantasy. All it would take is for them to have 2 different teams. 1 ps3/360 and 1 Wii. Not that hard to figure out. Instead they simply keep making them for the ps3 and Xbox 360 while creating shitty, subpar, and side quest type of games for Wii owners. Perhaps you're happy deluding yourself that you're getting some type of "special game" but real gamers know that Wii owners are getting screwed in the long run cuz regardless of the Wii's commercial sucess we still haven't gotten any major titles to come out other than a few sports games (FIFA and Madden).

They could make a stripped down version of the 360/PS3 game for Wii that would still look kick ass-- hell SC2 on Cube looked good... and it would sell SHIT loads.
By the time SC4 comes out, Wii's will outnumber PS3's by what... 4 to 1? And 360's by at least 1.5 to 1.

I can see where JohnnyBoy is coming from, but this is just the sort of thing Wii-exclusive owners have to accept (or if they have another console, just shut up and have fun)
These are the results of Nintendo's great experiment, we'll get some great games, we'll get a lot of shoe-horned ports, and we'll miss out when companies don't want to risk their bigger names on a concept that hasn't quite been well-developed yet
Of course, Capcom managed to shoe-horn Resident Evil 2 into a 64 MB N64 cartridge, i wouldn't doubt their capability to bring RE5 down to wii level

I know they suck because they are not main title games in the series and IMO I don't think the developers are going to make it as good as the main title games are going to be. Have you even seen what RE5 or SC4 look like? These stupid side games that you're so amped to get are just randomly thrown together games that the game developers think will satisfy Wii owners because they have RE or Soul Caliber. Sorry but thats not going to cut it. Now if they released RE 5 on the Wii then I'd be happy. If I knew that Soul Caliber was coming to Wii I'd be cool. But they're not coming and the reason is simply because Nintendo fucked up. At the very least they should have made 720p the basic requirement for all their games and they should have improved the graphics/hardware capabilities of the Wii.
Why don't you face facts? Like the fact that because Nintendo chose once again to create a system with basic if not horrible hardware us Wii owners are forced to miss out on the truly great games that are going to be coming out this year and the next. But keep lying to yourself that RE:UC and Soul Caliber LEGENDS are going to even measure to half the awesomeness that the main series titles are going to have.

Great game experiences don't derive from the fact that they are "main" titles of an IP.
If SC:Legends is fun and engaging to play (and from my first impression it sure looks like it delivers) I don't give a damn if it is a side-quest type of game.
And since I find the survival horror genre to be kind of lame, I'm actually excited about being RE:UC an on-rails shooter.

As a "side-title" or a seperate game, Final Fantasy: the Crystal Bearers looks pretty damned sweet to me. At least it looks like an actual GAME rather than the most recent fare in the main FF series that plays more like an extremely slow-paced interactive movie.
Personally, I couldn't care less about Soul Calibur 4. I've never been a 3D-fighting game fan, but if Soul Calibur Legends measures up as a decent ACTION game, as it's being touted, then I'm likely to at least give it a rent if nothing else.

lol...the Soulcalibur legends seems even better than SC4!!!
SC4 is the super-old game with some more graphics on ps3, it's the same thing over and over again like ps3 is an improved ps2.....that's why it sucks, wii is something new!!!
i'm a fan of the Soulcalibur, and i think SC legends is better than the oroginal series..also you should still expext SC4 on wii, they said is on ps3 and xbox360, but they haven't said it won't be for wii
wii can handle sc2 with graphics like sc3, why not sc4...that sound a bit stupid but anyway....
