Stream iTunes to your Wii

As the console is generally hooked up to a far larger sound system than the computer, it generally behooves the player to make use of a system as a music- or movie-playing device. We admit, the 360's streaming capabilities put it in a class of its own, but the Wii's easy-to-use internet browser has landed it at the center of many a drunk YouTube gathering. We'd previously reported on the success of Last.fm on the Wii, but now you can get your own music collection playing through your five point one, via iTunes.

The process is a bit lengthy, but it's very step-by-step. Would any readers like to test this out for us? It's kinda early, and there are gentle hobos living in the attic; we don't want to wake them, you see.

I have tried it out and the interface is not really Wii friendly, meaning it doesnt have the big clear easy to read buttons and when u play the song the interface is bland

I've tried this thing out (not actually on my Wii) but I don't even know how to use it. I had no idea how to actually get to the server it sets up. And all the searching I did on their page found me no answers..

I just tried this. It can't play purchased music, or the .m4a format. The layout isn't wii friendly. But it works.

I use orb.com for my Wii-streaming. You can stream all of your music and videos, view pictures, and even documents. And they have a Wii specific interface too!

I got it set up in about 10 minutes, like everyone said its not Wii friendly but it works (With MP3s at least).

I used TVersity for the same thing - it works very well and seem much more TV friendly. It doesn't read directly from an iTunes library but it still works great - nice and fast. Orb works, but requires the music to be streamed over the net, thus slowing it down a bit - TVersity connects the Wii right to the PC.
