Capcom registers "Apollo Justice" trademark
Don't object to our speculation, but Capcom has registered a trademark that sounds like it may have relevance in our daily lives. "Apollo Justice" ... hmm. The first name is taken from a mythological figure, one associated with law and truth, and the last name is also legal-themed. Oh, we got it-- this is the name of the next Resident Evil game.
Oh, or Ace Attorney. "Apollo Justice" would be a pretty good name for Odoroki Housuke, the protagonist of Gyakuten Saiban 4. And if that's what the trademark is for, then it's a good sign for those of us hoping for a localized version.

You can't be serious. "Apollo Justice" is a terrible name.
Javado Beckett, on the other hand... now there's a name you can trust.

Hmmm... yeah, I'll take it.
But the subtitle of his first game damn well better be "Trial by Fire." Capcom's AA BBS pretty much demanded it. (that or For Great Justice!)

That name sounds better suited for someone in a Rocky film.

As a long-time Phoenix Wright fan, I can safely say...
"Erm..."
Nycteris @ May 29th 2007 4:26PM
With the popularity of the series I expect many Phoenixes and Apollos to be running around elementary schools in the future. XD

It seems the localization team has a love for overly-dramatic names.
Naming your kid Apollo is like setting him up for greatness, the same way naming your poor kid Jeeves almost FORCES him to be a butler.

Why not Mustafa? Mustafa Norris, ace attorney and ass kicker.
Rubang B @ May 29th 2007 7:17PM
Hey I know a lot of Jeeveses who've had very successful careers as nonbutlers. And my butler's named Apollo. Namesist!

I like the Apollo part, it's delightfully over-the-top, like Phoenix was. It's the Justice part that doesn't sit right with me; it's almost too blatant.

I like the name. The last names are perfectly believable.(I've met some people named Wright, and David Justice played for the Braves back when I was into Baseball) It is just the first names that are kinda odd.(I've never met a Phoenix or an Apollo) But cool nonetheless.
Almadi @ May 30th 2007 6:48AM
I dunno. I read at some sites that the name is actually for a new 'Project Justice/Rival Schools' game.
Karga @ May 30th 2007 10:06AM
At least you can get Nick out of Phoenix, which is useable as a name. But what are you going to get out of Apollo? Paul?
I've never been a big fan of localization, but at the same time I know it has to happen for Nintendo/Capcom to get all the American fat monies it can.
I'm sure it's going to be fine and we're all going to buy it whatever happens, but "Apollo" Justice?
Feh.
I wonder if the folks at Battlestar Galactica would like some extra Capcom scratch to promise they won't sue.

Well, if you're not a fan of localization, you can play it in Japanese. No problem there. The Japanese version is already out!
