Wireless controllers confirmed to rock in Guitar Hero III

Some new info hit today regarding the third installment in the Guitar Hero franchise, confirming some songs that will be included in the game and the support of wireless guitars (online gameplay was previously confirmed). They've licensed the Gibson Les Paul, but no word on whether the wireless axes will be bundled with the game or an optional peripheral. No word, also, on what they will look like, be they the SG type or if licensing the Gibson Les Paul will mean that all bundles come with that version included.

Sabatage, School's Out, and The Metal: Excellent.
Everything else: Meh.
Gibson Les Paul: Meh (/me ducks flames).
Changing the fret colors: WTF?!?

This is pretty much what I expected out of Neversoft (ie. The company that came up with the craptastic song lists for Tony Hawks 3 through 8). I'll probably just stick with the 80's version.

The song list is OK ... but some songs I would like to see are not there. How about some Led Zeppelin (NOT "stairway")? How about some White Stripes and some Dandy Warhols? Oh well, I'm totally buying it no matter what. :-)

Heart, Rolling Stones, and even Weezer, Kiss, and Smashing Pumpkins, do all have some good songs, but not the ones that were chosen.

Cult of Personality is a great song with some really awesome guitar work. Am looking forward to being able to play it. Looks like it might even be the original, instead of the stand-in band, ROCK!

...Of all the Tenacious D songs they had to choose from, they go with Metal? Ugh. That's like finally getting Led Zeppelin into the game and picking All of my Love.

Knights of Cydonia for Muse? Ugh. That's like finally getting Muse into this game and picking Knights of Cydonia. What a huge mistake THAT would be. Their new album was probably the biggest disappointment of the year so far for me.

KISS sucks. Their only listenable song was already in GH2. They should have gone with I Was Made for Loving You or Lick It Up for sheer laughs.

I can see Neversoft's influence here, because they seem to have chosen a few songs based on popularity (School's Out and Rock and Roll All Night), but there are some surprises, like Jonas and Cherub Rock. Honestly though, it doesn't matter. I'm buying the game regardless of the song list (not that that's a factor, because OMG WEEZER), and I know a lot of other people will too.

All great songs.. except Muse. How I hate you, Muse. Here's hoping they add a few more classic or thrash metal songs before release. Let's not forget that we'll have extra downloadable songs as well...

The "Gibson Kramer" on PS2 will look better than the Les Paul, so you may want to buy it on PS2 instead of Wii, but I didn't get any pics of it yet.

For now, I'll just stick with my Gibson SG and wait for Guitar Hero 80's with great songs including "holy diver", "i wanna rock" and "metal health".

GH haters, this is for you: if you don't like these games, then why don't you go waste your time somewhere else? No one here is pretending that GH games are like the real thing. Personally, I've never played a real guitar, and I'm pretty good at guitar hero, but I know I would suck if you gave me a real guitar. But the fact is that I don't give a shit! I'm just having fun with my friends!

I'm a die hard GH fan... I have GH 1, GH2, soon GH 80's and this fall I'll get GH3. The more songs, the better.
