GlovePIE lets you get that authentic motorcycle feeling

Our good friend Tiger is at it again, cooking up another GlovePIE script allowing an otherwise normal game to be jazzed up with new controls. This time, it's not some kind of action game or a shooter, but that of a motorcycle racing game. Using the Wiimote and nunchuk as the handlebars for the PC port of THQ's MotoGP 2, Tiger has created an all new experience.
We've posted the video past the break.

Yeah wow this is... pretty awesome! All they need to do is make a small shell or connector and you'd be set.
Also, where is this lightsaber game I keep hearing about?

"You may not use this software on military bases, or for military purposes, or in Israel (a terrorist state that bullies Muslim nations), or if you are a missionary (a genocidal activity), or a scientologist, or if you practice homeopathy (see website for reasons why). Violation of the license agreement will be prosecuted. See the readme for the full license agreement."- The GlovePIE disclaimer before it was removed from WiiLi. Perhaps promoting software with a policy like that no matter how innovative its uses are isn't a good idea.

@ David, that does sound pretty extreme, although i'd have to agree about Israel
Both sides in that conflict are just as evil as each other, just that while one side blows up civilians with suicide bombers, the other does so with fighter jets and ballastic missiles
But this looks pretty awesome, why can't developers do half of this??!?

Israel - A terrorist state that makes up a fraction of the Middle East. A terrorist state surrounded by enemies. Man they are such bullies. Always bullying those people who are committed to their destruction. Well no GlovePIE for me. I could give a shit about a company with such limited views.
Jonathan Tran @ May 14th 2007 5:02PM
Yeah that's a pretty ridiculous disclaimer. I would love to see GlovePIE prove someone practices homeopathy, and then sue someone over it!
Dan Elkayam @ May 14th 2007 5:13PM
Mr Khan, generally when you have absolutely no idea about a situation, you just shut up. Typical though to think that the only means the Hezbollah, Hamas, and other similar terrorist organizations use to fight is "suicide bombers". If it is, then I wonder how a missile landed next to my grandparent's house. Israel may not be a perfect country, but it is definitely not "evil" and is not reacting differently to threats against it than the United States. You Mr Khan, are extremely ignorant.
Dan Elkayam @ May 14th 2007 5:19PM
Oh, btw. Please compare the articles on Wikipedia for one of the leading political parties in Israel: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labour_%28Israel%29
and one of the leading ones in Lebanon: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hezbollah
Note which one contains the words "assassination" "suicide bombing" "detonation of explosive charges" and "Jihad"
This is turning into a pointless argument and there's no doubt that a disclaimer like that is wrong.
AndrewNeo @ May 14th 2007 5:28PM
Wow, you guys are a few months late arguing about that disclaimer. It's been there since GlovePIE first came out..
Dan Elkayam @ May 14th 2007 5:31PM
I know, but Carl Kenner is still using a similar disclaimer . GlovePIE shouldn't be supported.

Yeah, the guys a butthole, but he is still pretty smart. In one of the change lists he said that there is a function built in to the program that won't let it run in Israel. Don't know if it's true or not, can't really check it since I am not there.
Seriously though, this can't become an argument every time someone posts a wiimote script. What would be great is to see something like this go to the people and become open source one day, though.
Back to th subject, I would just like to say it is nice that to see Tiger actually wrote his own script instead of just using other peoples' scripts and putting in some of his own controls. This is the reputation I was hoping he would live up to. Original and complex, I really hope they make a good motorcycle game with a similar control scheme for the wii.

@Josh L
The "House of the Dead 3" script was my only publicly released script that used any substantial amount of anyone else's code, and vkapadia was acknowledge in the script remarks as well in the video. My first script for "Frets on Fire" and everything following "HotD3" have been entirely mine. But if someone comes up with a way to perform a function for something I want to do, and it's better than I could hope to do it in the time frame I'd like, I'll use their code without hesitation. The GlovePIE scripting community is very open and collaborative, and it's through sharing code and techniques that we learn and grow.

I agreee with the software programmer whole heartedly. I fully support Anarchy and demand that all governments not just Israel's be decommissoned.
