Soul Calibur ... Adventure?
In this week's IGN Wii-k In Review podcast, Mr. Casamassina unleashed a rumor that promptly sent eighty-nine fans into spontaneous combustion (including poor David, his skin is coal black): Soul Calbur might be coming to the Wii. He refuses to speak the title by name, fearing some sort of silly massive lawsuit, but he comments that a very popular third-party fighting franchise seen on the Gamecube is coming to the Wii. Unless you count the import Naruto 3, Soul Calibur from Namco is pretty much the end-all-be-all of third-party fighting games on the 'Cube. However, he also comments that the franchise will no longer be seen as a fighting game, but as an adventure game. The mythos behind Soul Calibur certainly has the potential to drive a fully-fledged adventure, but will the play mechanics remain similar? And are we just getting this as a runner-up prize because the 360 and PS3 might receive the long-awaited Soul Calibur 4? Only

Soul Calibur is one of my favorite fighting games of all time. I like the idea of converting the game into an adventure type, I just hope it doesn't take away from the overall gameplay. Soul Calibur Wii, bring it!

If they put soul calibur 3 on ps3 and 360 and not the Wii then I think I will throw my little white console against the big white wall.

What is wrong with black skin? I suggest you watch what you say. I'm sure some of you may not understand because you don't have black skin but when you live in a country like US. With a history of making negative comments toward dark skin...
(including poor David, his skin is coal black) the hell is that suppose to mean.

Uh Kenn... I think the idea was that he spontaneously combusted. So it was playing on the idea that you know, Dave is now covered in soot because he was on fire. You don't need to play the race card here, it likely wasn't meant that way.
And as for Soul Calibur Adventure... go for it, as long as it doesn't suck like other fighting game spin offs.

DO IT FOR WII!

The real question is, will it have Link in it? He pretty much made Soul Calibur 2 way too easy (a very cheap character), so if they get Nintendo's permission to have him in again then they'll have to balance him out this time.
If he is in this Soul Calibur game, then it will pretty much define him as a staple for all future games in the series that show up on Nintendo systems. If Nintendo puts Solid Snake into SSB games after Brawl (seems likely), then it makes sense to put link into future SC games.

yea first of all lets not act like I don't need to be on watch. If me and other don't watch over stuff like this I'd still be a slave. You don't have any right to me not play until you walk in my shoes. I admit, I knew it was a stretch. I was just making sure people know that dark skin people are around and read. After getting an xbox live account first these pass month and playing Halo... well lets just say every 4-5 games i have hear racist stuff.
Again, my pissed off radar hit about a 1 on a scale of 5. So calm down just wanted make sure. When you go through 13 years of school with racist people calling you names because you look different then you can tell what not to pull.
PS, I watched about 4-5 Discovery channel shows on spontaneously combustion. And every show they don't have any solid evidence. So its pretty much a myth. Also I didn't know soot and coal were the same exact thing, lol. I'll have to google. and for your info his words were describing skin. read it over. He said his skin was coal black not coal covered skin. Maybe thats what he meant but that isn't what he said.
So don't reply if you want end the topic. I'm just checking to make sure, its something black folks have to do, or else certain people will get by. So sorry I destroyed your fake world of everything A.O.K. But I live in a world where people.... well lets not get into that, lol. Like I said just checking and I'm about a level 1, lol. But I know a bunch people that never walked in my shoes will drop their two cents. So lets just drop it by not replyin.

Man Kenn don't be such a baby I read the post and didn't detect a hint of racism or prejudice no reason to start crying on wiifanboy about your problems that's what Kidshelphone is for you know that number on the back of a coffie crisp bar that says call if you feel like talkin some time. I'm also black and I'm not crying about it on wiifanboy.
X_Arre @ May 7th 2007 4:24PM
Kenn: "Some people might get by."
:| "get by"? you want to stop someone's opinion from getting accross because they might be prejudice? People have freedom of speech. If he's racist, let him be racist.
Not saying he is, of course.

Paranoia is what I'm getting at.
At the topic at hand....woohoo soulcalibur!!!!

There are a lot of black things in the world, and a lot of white things. You might want to consider that if you react that way when there is a remote possibility of racism people might not take you seriously (thinking of you as hypersensitive or reactionary) when you do point valid racism occurences (ever heard of the boy who cried wolf?).
As for this occasion, if somebody spontaneously combust then yeah, their skin is gonna burn and burnt things often are black, so comparing its blackness with a reference in blackness (coal) is perfectly natural.
Now if the author had said "his skin is as black as a n*" or other racial slur I would totally side with you.
I don't think your approach is wrong, just badly calibrated.
BTW, I'm white but did suffer social exclusion during my teens due to my creed, but where you probably had some peers (other black people) I had none (except for my sister with whom I had other issues as teenage siblings are wont to do).
Peace out and chill out man.
