Logitech and Nintendo to play nice, peripherals incoming
With the incredible success of the Wii, many companies are shifting their focus to capitalize on the system's popularity. Companies such as Ubisoft, EA and now Logitech, are shifting their focus to Nintendo's latest console, offering more unique products for that console than they would the competition. Ubisoft and EA are bringing the games, but what about some nice peripheral action? That's where Logitech comes in, as they have revealed they've got some stuff in the works for the Wii. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but we know what you guys want: USB keyboard, right? We'd love one too, so let's hope that Logitech, who is wide known for some of the best wireless keyboards and mice in the PC game, can at least hook it up with a USB keyboard.
We'd say wireless for the Wii, but that might be asking too much ...

Hell no! We want wireless peripherals.

Wireless shouldn't be to much to ask for, Bluetooth keyboards may be a little too pricey for a console peripheral, but infrared wireless keyboards are pretty standard.
What I'd love is just a Wii update too add support for my existing Logitech ketyboard.

That makes sense. Hope for a USB keyboard from a company that is well known for its wireless technology.

(Because of how he said that, I assume he said it as a joke though.)

Professor Chaos, I think you meant RF (radio frequency). But I agree, a software/driver update that would allow the use of any USB (wireless) keyboard would be ideal.

Chris, with the exception of their Bluetooth keyboards, even Logitech's wireless keyboards need a USB port (or PS/2 port) for the receivers.

How about a USB bluetooth hotspot that allows existing bluetooth Logitech stuff to work on the Wii somehow? heh.. Not sure that if that's possible or not ;)
Shoot I'd like to see 'em make Wii remotes and stuff personally just because I'm sick of not being able to find 'em.
A keyboard wouldn't be too bad but I can type pretty quickly using a wii remote so I guess I don't care too much.

Apple sells a BT Wireless keyboard for $59. It works great (I have one for my Mac), batteries last a long time (6 mo) and is a great value.
I don't see that as that expensive.

Hell with USB, I want to have a connector so I can plug the Keyboard into the Wiimote and let the Wiimote handle power and wireless connectivity

Alex,
yup, you're right. I had a slight senior's moment.

This will lead to some fancy toys for the Wii.

Why don't they just make a bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

Keyboard? WII GUN! That's the only thing we need. Keyboard might be nice, but the gun attachement would make first person shooters even better.
And Wii-motes are pretty common around here, I live in the SF Bay Area. Even Sears had them.
