"You n00b sunnuva bitch," said the legendary knight 3494-5541-9771. "Pwnage ... is inevitable.""Hah!" said his adversary, 7111-9463-2931. "If you wish to grok your princess once more, you'll taste the fury of my skillz!" He raised his arms high in the air. "363171-765491, I summon thee from the shades of hell! Rise forth and rock this bitch!"
The ground shook, and from a spewing chasm came the beast, hideous and deformed. 3494-5541-9771 stood his ground. No creature would keep him from his princess. He dodged a 7612-8113-4353-1919 and drew his 1913-1564-8328, shining in the darkness. With one deft blow he severed the 363171-765491's head, and leapt toward 7111-9463-2931.
"Boom--" shouted 7111-9463-2931, raising his staff. The two collided--
"HEADSHOTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!"
And all was silent. 3494-5541-9771 had won. He sheathed his 1913-1564-8328 and approached his beautiful princess, 654232-918811. Her eyes fluttered open.
"Did you ... did you pwn him?"
"I did, fair princess."
"Well done, knight. And now, your just reward..." She slowly began to disrobe...
"Wait," she said suddenly. "Do I have your Friend Code?"
"What? I don't need your friend co--"
"Sorry, sweetie," said 654232-918811, donning her gown once more. "No code, no multiplayer." She walked away.
"I ... but ... FRAK!"

Yes, the code system leaves much to be desired.

Someone should send that link to Nintendo. See if they laugh.
Well written story. Gets the point made:

@Emerald
Why do you assume that the Japanese hate the xbox brand just because it is American? They love other American products (ipod, KFC, Levis etc.) Microsoft made a console for the west and people can't understand why it isn't selling in Japan. The 360 doesn't have the quirky games that sell well there. RPG's are few and far between. Cute games ditto. If Microsoft wants to sell more consoles in Japan, they need to have games Japanese people want to play.

lol
But of course, you guys of all people should know that friend codes are not required for online play, and the game displays names, not numbers, but they probably would be required to marry a princess...
I just hope you guys provide us with a different game night than DS fanboy, because you can't exactly be sitting in front of a PC and playing Wii at the same time
Let Wiifanboy users exchange system codes, then let us exchange friend codes on Game Night, or whenever our online-enabled game of choice comes out

For the record, we are indeed planning a Game Night for the Wii...but you know, we'll get back to you when there are, in fact, games to play online ^^

Okay, but remember to set up a friend code exchange service of some sort beforehand, it would be really helpful.

If each game is going to generate a different friend code then it still won't be possible to do anything until a game is released.
The friend codes themselves don't bother me. The long-string-of-numbers thing has worked just fine for the telephone system for decades. After getting a cell phone I entered my friends' number one time and never have to look at them again.
But, it seems Nintendo is determined to screw this up. I think a friend code ought to be assigned to a Mii that way a system can have multiple codes for the multiple users who may use that system. But Nintendo is determined to continue with the DS system where each system and game combo has its own code. That's like having a different phone number for a friend for each place they could possibly be when you call: car, office, living room, bedroom, the grocery store etc...
