DS Fire Emblem possible

Try not to get too excited (we know how you Fire Emblem devotees can be), but in an interview with IGN, a few of the franchise's producers dropped some hints that may lead to a DS appearance. However -- and this is why we caution against jumping the excitement gun -- Nintendo's Hitoshi Yamagami voiced some hesitation at a DS version. While they think that the handheld is perfect for SRPGs, they prefer to see Fire Emblem on a television. The demand is considerable for such a title, though, so if we keep our fingers crossed and think happy thoughts, it just may happen.In the interview, they also discussed WiFi options and the fact that they wanted to implement online functionality in the Wii's Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn, but there just wasn't enough time. Wherever the next installment in the series falls, it's probably going to be online.

What are the differences between Famicom Wars, Advanced Wars, BWii, and Fire Emblem?

"The FE series began on the Famicom, so we'd generally like to release it on consoles. Also, it's a game with many detailed parameters, so we want to put it on a television. However, we do feel that the SRPG genre is suited for the DS"
I don't quite understand that statement. Either SRPG's are well suited to the DS or they aren't.
Keep it on consoles? Why, exactly? Just because? I don't exactly know what he means by "detailed parameters", either.

Famicom Wars and Advanced Wars are more strategically based, but still real-time
BWii is more like Lost Planet
Fire Emblem is like Final Fantasy Tactics. Turn-based, an RPG-like level and item system, and characters move around a giant grid like a board game

Famicom Wars is Intelligent System's first strategy game. It is also the first in the franchise of games that includes Advance Wars. These games are military themed.
Fire Emblem is Intelligent System's other strategy game series, and as I recall, is their bread and butter. These games are fantasy themed.
BWii is Batallion Wars II, which is a sequel to Batallion Wars. These games are both developed by Kuju Entertainment, and really have nothing to do with the Famicom Wars series besides a similar name and somewhat similar theme. The gameplay is far far different.

By the way, the Famicom Wars series are TURN BASED, just like Fire Emblem. The two series actually play the exact same, the only differences being
1) Units in Fire Emblem are characters with names and backstories and all. When they die, they're dead for the rest of the game, and there aren't many characters, so often a player will restart a mission if a character dies. In Famicom Wars, units are impersonal things, like "Medium Tank" or "Infantry". They don't have names or backstories or anything.
2) Fire Emblem characters are RPG-based in that they have stats and items and can level up. Famicom Wars units are just what they are and they don't level up. For example, a medium tank is stronger than a tank, but it can move less spaces in a turn.
