Video of Mario Kart Arcade GP in action

Remember that weird arcade version of Mario Kart that we posted about just a few days ago? Turns out, one of our readers made a trip to the city of lights, Paris, recently and found one of these arcade units there. Doing as any great reader would, he took video of himself playing it.
We've gone and embedded said video past the post break for your viewing convenience.
[Thanks, NETCHRIS!]
Playing that with a steering wheel looks tough ...

Really this is news?
Damn! An arcade not but 10 minutes from my home in Orange County, CA has this game. Its been there for the better part of 2 years. Well maybe 1 and a half.
Its a pretty neat game, albiet expensive. It takes your picture as one of the Mario characters and then lets you print it out for a small fee.

yea there's one of these at the Kalahri Resort in Sandusky, Ohio. it's so freakin awesome

The DisneyQuest arcade in Orlando, FL has several of the consoles linked so you can play against friends. We spent the better part of an hour playing the four linked consoles.

I tried playing Mario Kart on GameCube with a wheel and it was VERY hard.

I'm surprised so many people didn't know about this D: It's in the Chuck E. Cheese's near my home. Major fun :D I especially enjoyed the taking picture part.

You see, the arcade scene is dying not because of the lack of good games. It's the lack of motivation coming from arcade-owners, and the stupid consumers. They're so stuck on their damn Marvel vs. Capcom and old-as-grandpa Mortal Kombat games that they don't get any good games like DDR, IIDX, Guilty Gear X2:Slash or Accent Core, or Mario Kart GP.

I found the second version of this game in Mumbles, in swansea, south wales. It was a great game, however it was £1 per race.
Nebster @ Apr 12th 2007 4:39PM
