Alien Syndrome controls revealed, screens abducted

With Sega's support of the Wii well-documented, it's been awhile since we checked in on their upcoming title Alien Syndrome. Luckily, the good fellows over at Siliconera have come across a few details on the upcoming title's controls, as well as gotten some new screens for the game. They describe the title as being a kind of Gauntlet clone.
The controls are revealed to be rather simple: the nunchuk controls movement (natch), while the Wiimote is used to fire, allowing one to move and fire at the same time. One will also use the Wiimote to craft items, ehnance weapons and perform "1337 haxxorz" on in-game computer systems. Sadly, we do not know how exactly one will use the Wiimote and nunchuk (we assume gesture-based?), so we're still left to speculate.
But hey, at least we have some images of the game, available past the post break!

Looks cool, but I need a video to make me want this game.

Imagine circle strafing. You point at the target with the wiimote and move with the analog stick. This even works with grenades. You can keep target and shoot at it and still be able to move around. Imagine all the arcade shooters making a comeback. Plus the RPG elements with the upgradeable weapons.

This was one of the best games ever to grace the Sega Master System, and I played it to absolute death.
Alien Syndrome is really just a futuristic gauntlet, except without any of the suck. It's hook was that it had great weapons, great controls, and at it's core was a straightforward and incredibly addictive shooter. 8 levels, 8 different aliens, and a perfect rise in the level of difficulty (except Lvl. 8- 8 was too hard.)
But this looks nothing like that. This looks like they made it into a 3-D platformer that's a cross between BG&E , Zelda, and Metroid.
Most people probably will think that that's great. It sounds great. And while I'm sure that it'll be a decent game, it's just not really what I loved about alien syndrome. Bummer.

I'm stoked for this. Recently it seems only Indie developers are willing to produce this type of game... it's nice to see this coming to the Wii.

This is looking pretty dope so far. I think the control scheme is awesome. It makes me want a Smash TV Wii game.

This looks sweet!
Get me this and then remake Zombies Ate My Neighbors with the same sort of controls and I will be happy.
