Wiimote and nunchuk used to play House of the Dead 3

Reader Tiger wrote in to inform us of a pretty awesome use of the GlovePIE script he came up with, wherein this
Oh, and if you think this is fake, check out Tiger's website where the script is available for download and give it a whirl yourself.

Why is this so special? if you download the latest version of GlovePIE it comes with a lot of wii scripts already there, including one that moves the mouse using the IR. All you have do to is put in the controls(real easy, just make a line like key.r = wiimote.A and you will reload by pressing A).
I have been doing this for a while now with sauerbraten(which is an open-source fps, for OSX, PC, and linux)
I also tried this an an mmo called SpaceCowboy(stupid name, cool game. Basicly a futuristic plain mmo)
Never tried it with a rail shooter. The problem with using the IR is finding the range of the IR and making it fit to the TV(so by moving the wiimote a centimeter you won't go across the entire TV). Because of this, FPSs reticles might go crazy because you are pointing too far to the right so it constantly turns, so games like rail shooters(and SpaceCowboy) where the mouse is independent from the view work really well.
Infact I don't think this guy is THAT clever, if he bothered looking at the script he would see he can decrease the sensitivity and actually play a few more feet away, without it being super easy. All though it is fun to blow up zombies with shutguns lighting fast, a challenge is nice too.
he evens says on his site all he did was "modify" Vkapedia's script(the mouse-IR one I mentioned earlier) to use nunchuck support. Techinically he just added to it, as he didn't change a thing in the script. Even the bit with teh nunchuck is available there.
All though, I gotta give kudos for the guy for being the only one to a tually make a video of it and send a tip to somewhere that would show it. So, um, yeah, I'm a bit jelous...
You CAN take this a step further and hook up the display to a TV(like I did, first I tried my 34" witch was okay... Than i tried my dad's 55" hooked up to the surround sound, which was fricking awsome!. Believe me, if I had the means i would record it too)
I always said this since the Wiimote came out, nintendo could make a killing off the wiimotes alone. And considering the Wii's, uh, graphical challenges, it might be better to just buy a wiimote and a nunchuck to play the more high-end pc games while waiting for Metroid 3 and Mario... Just a suggestion. but beware, you have to have the RIGHT KIND OF BLUETOOTH CHIP, or the wiimote can't be used, just check www.wiili.org . Also, once you connect the Wiimote, the HID service has to be found(Human Interface Device) or it won't work. To do this, you have to make sure it is still in finding mode until you are done, I found it odd that, that wasn't mentioned anywhere.

So somebody's finally come up with a script that puts the remote's pointer function to work? The potential for PC games is huge, and not just shooters. I'm looking forward to seeing how it works with strategy games and MMORPGs (I've seen a few demos, but none that put it to full use). For instance, could macros be linked to complex movements with the remote?
And the possibilities don't stop with games. Am I the only one who sees some major potential in business and education applications? As far as I know, there's no other pointer device out there that interfaces with a PC, or if there is I'm sure it costs a hell of a lot more. Hook a sensor bar underneath your projector screen, turn on your Wii-mote, and you've taken PowerPoint presentations to the next level.
If you ask me, Nintendo should look into developing some official software for this sort of thing and start to push their remote for uses beyond just the Wii.

I tried hooking the Wiimote to my PC, and though it works perfectly as a mouse in Windows, once you start playing a PC game the Wiimote ceases to work like a mouse. I would assume its because the Wiimote is considered a Joystick by windows.
DOes anyone here know how to give the Wii mote full PC mouse capabilities?

This is a great use of the controller, and House of the Dead isn't a bad game either. Compare these videos to your experiences of Red Steel and I'm sure you'll agree it looks a lot more fun.

First... That is one HUGE ass monitor!! It makes it obvious that the sensor bar is at the top of it because of his pointing angle. Seriously, the bigger the monitors, the farther you have to be for accuracy.
And wait! did Wiili.org hack the IR sensor of the Wiimote already?! Time to buy a Bluetooth card!

One of my favorite parts of Rayman were the rail shooting sections. Hopefully Sega takes note and brings out a collection of all of the House of the Dead games (minus the Typing of the Dead) for the Wii.

Are there any good guides online?
I can't even get my Wii Remote connected to my blue tooth adaptor. It asks for an authentication code.
