Nintendo formally announces Wii release schedule for 2007 (Mario Party 8 NOT delayed?) [update 1]
Update: This schedule is only good up until Q2 for this year. Sorry for the mistake.Along with their press release for Pokemon Battle Revolution, Nintendo sent along a release schedule for all of the upcoming Wii games in 2007. Know what's weird, though? Mario Party 8 is listed as being released on May 29th.
This, of course, doesn't support what we reported earlier about the party title involving Mario and his friends. We've put in a call to our Nintendo rep and will update you all on what they say later on. In the meanwhile, head past the post break for the full list of titles releasing on the Wii in 2007.

whoa.... Prince of Persia moved to April?!?!?!?! WHAT GIVES!!!!!! ive been looking forward to that since its announcement! guess that means ill be playing Twilight Princess one more time through..:(
djmg82 @ Mar 7th 2007 9:21PM
The games I'm looking forward to aren't on that list... well, with the exception of Super Paper Mario and maybe PoP and Mario Party (never played either series).
I'm starting to worry that none of the big 3 will be released this year. Mario Galaxy is THE one I'm waiting for... but they could quench my thirst with MP3 or SSBB. Thankfully I have a whole new library of amazing GC games to help divert my attention.
Regardless, I suppose it's nice to see a steady influx of titles though. They'll certainly sell well to people who snatch up movie adaptations and various soon-to-be bargain-bin titles.
risend @ Mar 7th 2007 9:25PM
Can't wait for Big Brain Academy, I loved the ds version. I can't wait to see what they did with with the wii version.
ghnvt @ Mar 7th 2007 9:24PM
@djmg82
I definitely agree with you there. The more games that come out the less and less I care about the delay of those other titles. I am also thankful some of the launch titles are 29.99 now therefore cheaper to purchase and don't hurt my wallet that much when I only play it for a week or too (aka Red Steel).
dlynch @ Mar 7th 2007 9:25PM
NICE!!!!

BTW I hope those flying games are crappy. I really want heatseeker to be good.
dukemeiser @ Mar 7th 2007 9:36PM
I can't wait for Spiderman 3. Spiderman 2 was a lot of fun, even just swinging around the city was enough to keep me entertained for a couple of hours.
Super Paper Mario is definitely a must buy.
Prince of Persia has a lot of hype, I'll probably buy it if the reviews are good.
Mario Party 8 won't have online capabilities if it really is being released then, otherwise I would have bought it.
Pokemon Battle is one I'll probably pick up just so I can play online.
Straive @ Mar 7th 2007 9:53PM
WTF...No MP3, SSBB, or Mario Galaxy...What gives Nintendo????
outforprophets @ Mar 7th 2007 9:56PM
Where the fuck is Smash Bros. Brawl?
Tyler @ Mar 7th 2007 9:56PM
Ok....sorry....IGN reports that this is a Q2 release schedule only...not all of 2007...c'mon guys I think you need to correct that
Lotrfish @ Mar 7th 2007 10:04PM
What no Fire Emblem? I thought for sure this was going to becoming out around June. I've been really looking forward to this one. Now, it seems like I'll only be getting two games until the summer's over. Super Paper Mario and Pokemon Battle Revolution. I really NEED my Fire Emblem.
iX NES Xi @ Mar 7th 2007 10:09PM
^ I agree with 10, Brawl seems to have fell off the radar
scepia @ Mar 7th 2007 10:20PM
Nintendo is full of crap. A FREAKIN TRANSLATION TAKES 1 MONTH. PBR is freakin turn-based, and it takes 1/2 a year to translate.
Nushio @ Mar 7th 2007 10:37PM
scepia: Pokemon Diamond and Pearl are going to be released in April. Those games must've taken a while to translate, due to all text.
PBR must've been done for months now, patiently waiting for DP to come out.
Its ironic that a DS title has more text than a Wii title...
flameofdoom666 @ Mar 7th 2007 10:52PM
@ Nushio
"Its ironic that a DS title has more text than a Wii title..."
Diamond and Pearl are RPG's. RPG's tend to have a lot of test. This is why it will have more text. It isn't a negative towards Pokemon Battle Revolution. However a negative against it is that it is not a full game. It is only a battle game, I didn't care for the other 3, this will be the same.
And on that note..,
Pokemon Battle Revolution is just a fighting game. It has DS functionality which is probably why it is coming out that late, but also they are getting the server ready.
I want Super Paper Mario, Mario Party 8, Big Brain Academy (Wii), Fire Emblem: Goddess Of Dawn (Lotrfish, I feel your pain!), Metroid Prime 3
flameofdoom666 @ Mar 7th 2007 10:59PM
my message didn't fit, lame.
GrossGreg @ Mar 7th 2007 11:04PM
...um, none.
Damn.
Zoob @ Mar 8th 2007 1:08AM
Ugh. Outlook is not good.
Super Paper Mario and Mario Party 8 will be pretty good, but I'm starting to get fed up with this dearth of Wii titles.
Well, SSX Blur should hold me over until then. Also isn't Kororinpa coming out sometime soon?
boot @ Mar 8th 2007 6:35AM
If you guys noticed its only up till Q2. SSBB MP3 and SMG are all probabley around chrismas to up the sales. And nintendo is probabley holding all the online games announcements until they announce online play. DUH! Giving out the release date on a wi-fi enabled game will obviously ruin their cover.
WillTheSecond @ Mar 9th 2007 4:16PM
Super Paper Mario
Spider-Man The Movie 3
Heatseeker
These are the only titles from that list that interest me. It's a good thing there are a couple decent titles being released in March (MOH: Vanguard and Trauma Centre [not released here in the UK yet]) to satiate me.
It's not really that bleak though, I hear Heatseeker is great fun, Spider-man 2 was good so we can expect 3 to live up to it, and Super Paper Mario's 2D-to-3D stuff looks great.
I just can't get interested in Mario Party 8 and Big Brain, and I've never been a Pokemon fan, though if the online proves to be better than what I've heard from Japan (which is that it's laggy and limited and uses game-specific friend codes) I might become more interested. As far as I'm concerned the first proper online multiplayer on Wii will come in the form of BWii, which is what should really be leading the online show.
Ah well, a least things are clear(er) on the online front.
rabidMike @ Mar 8th 2007 8:32AM
EB/Gamestop and a few other sites per this posting still show Prince of Persia as being released 3/20.... though many games I want to pick up this month.. could help as far as the cash flow but definetly a title Ive been looking forward to.. any other confirmation??
Charles @ Mar 8th 2007 8:30AM
Hm. How much longer for a Q3 schedule I wonder? I'd like to have Brawl by the end of July, at the latest, but I don't know if that'll happen...
Justin @ Mar 8th 2007 8:40AM
I'm not buying a Wii until MP3 comes out.
Jasen @ Mar 8th 2007 8:49AM
19. I hope so. I'm looking forward to Battalion Wars II. The developer's site (http://www.kuju.com/news/BWiiannouncement_news_271006.htm) says the release is "expected to be early 2007". And there's been no info about it on any Nintendo site. I'm hoping it's sitting somewhere ready to go and the developer is just waiting for Nintendo to unveil online play.
Nighthawk_12 @ Mar 8th 2007 9:19AM
@ 19 and 23
In case you guys didn't realize, Nintendo DID just put a release date for online play: June 25. They had stated in the past that Pokemon Battle Revolution will be the first Wi-Fi game, and it has a relese date now.
Michael Sherman @ Mar 8th 2007 9:34AM
No MP3?!?!?!? For goodness' sake, Nintendo! Can't your developers hit a deadline?
/frustrated Wii owner and Metroid fan
Dan @ Mar 8th 2007 9:52AM
Where's Mario Strikers? That's the game I'll get a Wii for.
Steven @ Mar 8th 2007 11:00AM
Yes, Mario Party 8 is delayed. It was originally supposed to come out in March.
Sharra @ Mar 8th 2007 11:47AM
Man, I wish they would get their release dates straight on games like Mario Party, and I hope they actually deliver another Animal Crossing, preferably this year, but heck, as long as it's not scrapped I can wait till next year.
stephen @ Mar 8th 2007 11:52AM
Im thinking something too for all you guys who want MP3: Reggie said it would come out Late Q2, Early Q3. Obviously it is not coming out Late in Q2, Sssssssssooooooo it will probably come in late Q3. This means that the 2nd delay Delayed it Past Pokemon, which is the first Online game. HHHMMMMMM welll ill leave you to your thinking :)
movieman200x @ Mar 8th 2007 12:36PM
I don't see how this contradicts reports about the game being pushed back to summer. By fiscal year standards, May 29th fits into the summer quarter. Also, this confirms what we already knew, that the game has been pushed back (it was supposed to be released this month).
jonasblue @ Mar 8th 2007 12:39PM
Are you serious? Most of these games are weak. Bust-a-Move? Tamagatchi? Disney? Bug Island? Pokemon? Shrek? Give me a break. I have a Wii, and I like it. Besides Mortal Kombat, are there any games for grown-ups?
*Looking forward to Metroid*
Ben @ Mar 8th 2007 1:31PM
Maaaa! The Metrooiid! FOCK! I never know what she's doing back there...
brawler @ Mar 8th 2007 1:36PM
where's brawl and corruption
Rodisian @ Mar 8th 2007 1:42PM
Where's Dragon Quest Swords? I thought it was slated for Spring 2007?
jc @ Mar 8th 2007 2:46PM
Wow. Thats pretty disappointing. Not really into any of those games. Until Metroid Prime and Galaxies come out, the Wii'll stay in the closet. Luckily I have a few games on my 360 to keep me entertained (cant wait for Mass Effect!)
derfreddy @ Mar 8th 2007 3:38PM
mario party 8 is already out in europe.. yesterday i saw it in a gamestop in frankfurt (germany u stupid americans)
Burnt Meatloaf @ Mar 8th 2007 4:23PM
The reason you don't see Smash Bros., MP3, Galaxy and other major titles on the list is because Nintendo doesn't want the games to cannibalize each other in the marketplace.
You'll have to wait. Duh.
FSK405K @ Mar 9th 2007 10:46PM
Hmm, the only Wiileases I'm looking forward to are Super Paper Mario, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, and Battalion Wars 2. The rest is children's game crap and Wii-ified sequels.
amywh00 @ May 25th 2007 10:10PM
the things im waiting for is a animal crossing for the wii and the sims type game that nintendo power anounced some time back. also mario party 8, and super smash bros. brawl
amywh00 @ May 25th 2007 10:10PM
10. &12. SSBB is like super smash brothers and super smash brothers meale
