Eyeshield 21 gameplay video

It is extremely weird to see American football presented in an anime style, with special moves and speedlines and everything. That's exactly what is on display in this video of the anime-based sports game, visible over at Siliconera. We don't know the first thing about football, but they've managed to make it look like an action game, and therefore piqued our interest.Of course, no Wii gameplay video would be complete without footage of Wiimote gestures corresponding to on-screen moves. It even looks like it's got some Shenmue/Dragon's Lair-style Quick Timer Events interspersed with the footballery! We hope someone decides that maybe a football game is a good idea for the US.

Jesus, that was indeed weird.
I love how he uses anime magic to dodge and tackle. Other than that, it really didn't look too bad.

Japan + American Football + Anime Graphics = Totally insane. I don't think this game would sell very well here. We Americans do not like our favorite sport to be messed with and especially Madden. Just look at Blitz the League. Crappy gameplay and now NFL teams = crap.

It is a really cool concept. It'll probably fly over Americans though. We like football for its action and such. The anime goes on about all these football techniques, formations, and stuff but the incredible emphasis on character and story development can be jolting to the action.

i usually hate football (as i am one who does not like realism in my games) so this video has piqued my interest but if it does come to america, i hope it will have Online Play.

It's a shame that I will most likely NEVER play this game since the chance of it coming to the states is very slim.
Eyeshield 21 is something I could really get behind.
