Video: disc-swap trick in action

Remember when we talked about tricking your Wii into accepting GC discs that were not in your region? Well, we would've loved to have demonstrated the trick for you in video form, but we didn't have any import GameCube games to try the trick with. Turns out YouTube user Skywanwan did, as he demonstrates the trick working in his video. We've embedded it past the post break so you can see how it is exactly done.
How long until Nintendo corrects this in a system update?

Now, if we can only use this to work on Wii backups.

I doubt it will work with Wii backups, at least not this simply
Remember, the Disc Channel cannot tell the difference between one GameCube game and the other, once the program has cleared the disc's "identifier code" and another disc is inserted, it still simply begins running its "GameCube Mode"
Whereas each Wii game is uniquely read by the disc channel, and i doubt the channel would be so easily fooled, it would most likely crash

I just tried this with a NTSC gamecube and a japanese GC game. I started the trick with a NTSC gamecube game and then switched in some Japanese games. Pikmin 2 worky flawlessly but Naruto 4 gave me an error message after I left the main screen.

Hey all,
I tried it on a PAL Wii with an NTSC copy of Resident Evil 4.
To my shock the game actually loaded up, but also to my horror the game ran at a slower pace than usual, and the video and sound was totally out of sync =( (As to say totally out of sync, the video was much much slower than the sound, which totally ruins the game)
Looks like i'll need to hang on to my Cube after all.
