Space Station Tycoon announced for Wii

Namco Bandai announced that they're bringing a new Tycoon game to the Wii: Space Station Tycoon from Wahoo Studios, the developer responsible for Outpost Kaloki X on Xbox Live Arcade. The new game will apparently be similar to the downloadable Kaloki, but will be a full retail release.
As a young tycoon named Shawn, you (and your monkey sidekick Tam) are charged with building and operating multiple space stations, fulfilling the needs of travelers, and manipulating people and objects with a "mobile gravity well." We think strategy games are a great fit for the Wiimote, and this one has a pleasing, cartoony style, so we're piqued, even though this is based on a franchise for those other guys.
Hey, when did Namco get control of the Tycoon series? Are the Tycoon games even a discrete series, or are there just a bunch of games with the word Tycoon in them?
Some pretty nice-looking screens are posted after the break.

I really loved the demo for Kaloki on XBL, and I may still buy it. Now, though... well, if SST is going to be $50, and Kaloki is available for $10, I may still go with the 360 title. But if SST turns out to be "budget" as well (

Looks very interesting. I'm actually looking forward to this now.

From the interview: "The title will be available this summer 2007. No price point has been determined yet."
It's not a port of Outpost. It's a new game, with some similar elements. It appears to be a full game, with cooperative mode, potential for WiiConnect24, but no WiFi multiplayer. Not a lot of details have been released.
