New My Sims trailer and site

EA's reimagining of The Sims (aka their take on Animal Crossing) is headed to the US, and there's a brand new English website complete with the cutest trailer you'll probably ever see, game details, and a few screenshots. The trailer is a must-see, and we've tucked it away after the jump for your viewing pleasure. We've already seen most of the other content on the website, but these adorable chibi Sims never get old.
MySims is also slated for the DS, but don't get too excited ... it'll be months before we see this one on shelves.

Some people are going to say this game looks too childish or what ever, I think it looks good!
As long as the game is functional and fun to play, then I am all about it.
Hopefully we will be able to put our Miis in the game, otherwise I'd be a little disappointed.

I'm on the fence about this game. I like the Sims series a lot. But this game just looks way too childish.
I won't pass judgement just yet though.

i think its already been confirmed that you won't be putting your miis in it. but that the level of customization to these characters is far greater than the mii channel.

"His and Her Circumstances" reference...
Very nice!

Indeed, Scott! One of my all time favorites, and one of the few times I've ever bought (loads and loads) of manga.

I think this game looks GREAT.
I always hated the lack of character customization in Animal Crossing, and this seems to basically be a direct rip-off of Animal Crossing but with more character customization and people instead of animals. Knowing the Maxis team's efforts so far I'm sure it'll have a slightly more adult sense of humor than Animal Crossing and it sounds like it's going to have a lot more to do than Animal Crossing's endless runarounds of looking for somebody's missing glasses case so you can get a new t-shirt.
This game makes perfect sense on the Wii, it makes good use of the Wii's graphic capabilities and directly targets the Wii audience, and if the system continues to sell well to women and non-gamers I'd be willing to bet some serious cash that this is going to be the most successful Sims console offering.
I never liked the graphics or style of the older Sims games, but this has actually made me take notice. Smooth moves, Maxis. Smooth moves.
